- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Lush, lyrical and many-layered … I loved it so much!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Needs a good editor. Her rambling descriptions are annoyingly inane
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The narrator moves the story forwards. She was good. The story while different was predictable. If the author had left many of the repeated ' guilt out' of Cora's internal dialogue the story would have been less obvious. A decent light fare book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Interesting period story- I enjoyed the narration too. I will look for more books from this writer!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Really enjoyed this story. Very original plot and setting. Loved the main characters, and the narrator was absolutely perfect!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In 1930, Cora goes undercover as a maid in a Hollywood magnate's lavish estate to find evidence for a client. There she encounters Jack, a mysterious man from her past. The two form a tentative alliance, unraveling sinister secrets.
This is a brilliant and engrossing mystery with a romance subplot that kept me guessing until the end. It immerses the reader in the Hollywood glamour of the time. The characters are well-developed and intriguing. The audio narration added to the enjoyment of the book.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.4 people found this helpful
