      She’s a very good writer, but I didn’t like the ending at all. I would’ve liked to have an ending at least there was something good at the end.

      I was overwhelmed with this story. As a longtime sufferer of fibromyalgia, I could relate to the descriptions given, the abandonment of the medical community, criticism from family and friends, and the aloneness… but most importantly, finding an depth of relationship with God in the darkest of times. Thank you for telling this story. Bravo!

      great book! totally suspenseful! she has a unique perspective to be able to write the book with having suffered with the disease herself.

      I have really loved the Kincaid Brides series. Book three features Seth Kincaid, the youngest of the brothers. I loved how Mary Connealy developed the character of Seth. She took him through what happened in his past and brought him into the future, forcing him to work out his issues, with the help of a good woman by his side.What really made this series so special for me was how the brothers stuck up for each other through thick or thin even though they fought and bickered at times. I won't spoil it but this book not only is filled with action but with even a few surprises. If you haven't read the first two books in this series, Out of Control and In Too Deep, I highly recommend that you do so before reading Over The Edge.

      A few months ago, I was able to read the first book in The Kincaid Brides series, Out of Control and I was really disappointed with it. The main female character in that one, Julia Gilliland, annoyed me beyond belief. I really, REALLY disliked her character. I was so disappointed by the book, especially because Mary Connealy is on of my favorite authors and has written so many fun novels in the past. That being said, I was a little nervous about reading Over the Edge. While I found it better than Out of Control, I still am not that impressed with Over the Edge. Not only was something about it a bit “off”, but I had to endure the character of Julia Gilliland yet again. I really wanted to like this series, but of the two books I’ve read, I’m just left feeling disappointed. I think I’ll skip the second book in the series that I haven’t read yet. I’m not giving up on Mary Connealy yet, but hope future books aren’t duds like these two.NOTICE:Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Bethany House in exchange for my honest review.       As with most of author Mary Connealy's books; I was captivated from the first chapter. I have read the second book in this series ~ In Too Deep, and since reading that great book have been wondering about Seth's history. Finally getting to really know more about Seth, and what happened to him; made this story more intriguing to me personally. I enjoy Mary Connealy's writing style and her wonderful stories of characters in the Wild West. I can say that Over the Edge did not disappoint, but was another great book by this amazing author.The main characters were likeable and funny at times. I loved being reaquainted with some of my favorite characters from the other book(s) in this series. The descriptions of the surroundings really made it easy for me to imagine the settings that the characters were in. Well-written and fast-paced, easy to read and hard to put down; overall another great book I highly recommend!

      Review of Over the Edge by Mary Connealy. An adventure which will keep you turning page after page. Seth Kincaid has nightmares. Callie attends him in war hospital. Callie protects a stage coach to keep her son safe. An adventure in itself. A brother locates Seth they didn't know existed. A cavern with floors giving way. Stolen diamonds found. Callie kidnapped. Love, nightmares, robbers, injuries, family issues, and more. Get ready to stay awake to read one more page and then another and another. I love all Mary Co3 books as each an adventure.

      Mary Connealy is a new author to me who writes "Romantic Comedy with Cowboys". How's that for a tag line? Love it! Over the Edge - Imagine a bone jarring stagecoach moving along the road when suddenly the horses speed up, the guys up top are yelling and thundering hooves are coming up fast... and who just happens to be the only one that can save everyone? Callie to the rescue! She's a hard, angry, sharp-shooting take charge type of gal - and she has a baby to save from the bandits attacking them. And when she's done - she's got a man to kill! Yep, her baby's daddy!Loved this book! It's fast moving as Mary's books seem to be (read my review for Swept Away here), very well written, easy to read and fun to boot. I loved the various settings in Over the Edge and especially liked the part about the Massive Caves and the story about Seth's background. (I wouldn't mind a story featuring their dad & the brothers growing up - it would be very interesting.)       Another fun-loving romantic story in the life of the Kincaid brothers. This story is centered around the youngest brother, Seth Kincaid (or is he really the youngest???). I love the way the author starts the book out from the very first pages with a captivating and exciting scene that captures your attention right away. Callie Kincaid has set off with her infant son to find the Kincaid brothers and maybe find her long-lost husband so she can "do him in" for just walking away from their marriage. Seth has survived alot in his life; a fire in a cave when he was young, the Civil War and all his battle scars, but one thing he will have to learn to survive is the temper he discovers in the wife he forgot he was married to. Callie is a woman who can take care of herself, but is longing for her husband to remember her. She is a lady who says what she feels and doesn't leave anyone guessing on what she is thinking. This man and wife are a joy to watch as they learn to know and love each other all over again.I liked the whole series and how each story tied into the next one. Yes, you could read it as a stand alone, but you will miss out on alot if you don't read the whole series in order. The covers on the books also were a big draw for me and very well done. But most importantly the story line was full of characters that made you smile, espcially the Kincaid brothers.

      This is the third "Brides" book for the Kincaid brothers but another brother appeared so perhaps another book? I did not have the opportunity to read the first two and it might have helped me a bit with the enjoyment of this one - there were many references to what came before and I felt a bit lost without the complete backstory.Nonetheless - Callie Kincaid is on the stagecoach with her young son when they are attacked by bandits. She is a crack shot and manages to hold them off long enough for the Parson and his wife to escape with her son to run to Colorado City to get help. She is coming to town to find her brothers in law and her no account husband. He ran off one day never to return. He does not even know he has a son.Well, she finds the rat - when he comes to her aid. She shoots at him but she is so badly injured she misses. OK - she misses intentionally. She wants to find out why he ran off but she comes to find out he doesn't even remember her! He does rush her in to the town doctor to get her injuries taken care of and so starts the slow reconciliation of Callie and Seth.It was a very sweet tale with a strong - sometimes overbearing - female protagonist. The love story between Callie and Seth plays out within a plot point that has carried over from the previous two books about a very bad man looking for a fortune that was stolen from him by the former husband (now dead) of one of the Kincaid boys' wives. There is also a subplot about a new brother and what a rat of a man the Kincaid father turned out to be.It all ties up very nicely and it was a pleasant way to spend a few hours. The characters were simple, stayed in their defined roles and the story was enjoyable. A lovely, light read.
