Tracy looked down at the rectangular piece of paper that Mr. Sims had slid across the desk. It was shaped rather like a check. Probably not by accident, Tracy thought.
Sims reached up and tightened the knot of his tie. He was a lawyer. Judging by his suit, an expensive one. And he looked quite displeased to being reduced to messenger boy status.
Good, Tracy thought.
She flipped over the paper and looked at it. For a moment, her eyes widened. Despite her promise to herself to not sell, she felt her heart flutter. Had the room suddenly gotten hotter? It sure felt like it.
It really was a big number. Far more than she could get if she went with a realtor.
Well, Miss Blanchard, are we finally ready to reach a deal? I have to say, your strategy is so good even I didn't see it at first. You sure know how to get a prospective buyer to pony up the dough.
