About this ebook
Jason’s life hasn’t been easy. Feeling responsible for the death of his twin the night they graduated from high school, Jason commits emotional suicide by revealing he’s gay after his brother’s funeral, permanently severing all ties with his ultra-conservative parents. But when he runs to Hunter Dane for comfort, all he can see is the same rejection mirrored on best friend’s face.
Fifteen years later, Jason needs all the support he can get to beat back the cancer invading his body. When Hunter unexpectedly shows up to shift from former friend to caregiver, Jason must battle his attraction even while he’s waging the biggest fight of his life.

Laura Harner
Laura lives on waterfront property in Arizona because she's always wanted to be an oxymoron. She once enjoyed hobbies such as gardening and travel—now the characters in her head compel her to tell their stories, so she writes. (It doesn't actually help quiet the voices—but it keeps the folks in the white jackets at bay.) She shares her home with an ever-revolving cast of characters—some of whom are actually real—and is living her dream of building her own version of the Willow Springs Ranch. With over fifty published novels and novellas, Laura is an international bestselling author of erotic romances, romantic suspense, urban fantasy, and Highland romances. With a promise to take better care of himself as soon as he arrived at—Jason paused mid-pour to check the letter the social worker handed him this morning—Covington House—he poured the last of the coffee into his cup and unplugged the pot. He sipped, then immediately winced at the burn that tried to crawl back up his esophagus. God he felt sick. It would only get worse with the chemo, though, so he might as well enjoy his coffee while he could.
Covington House. The place sounded more like a fancy resort, not some place a guy went to battle death. And why did it have to be back in his hometown? Fifteen years ago he’d left Pontchartrain, Louisiana without a backward glance. It didn’t seem right fate would step in to drag him back there now. Maybe it was nature’s way of bringing him home to die.
Looking around the microscopic room that held the meager remains of his life in New York, Jason realized two more boxes would do it. Clothes, a few kitchen supplies, and his pictures. Those were all that remained of his previous life. My before-cancer life.
