    AM I CRAZY?? That’s probably the first thing you ask yourself if you are asked to see a psychiatrist or when you feel you have to. There is a possibility you feel that way because of the way mental illness is perceived from where you come from. You were probably brought up in an environment that only crazy people see a psychiatrist or a psychologist. If you have this fear of being judged, you probably have suffered silently from for a long time now.

    I am writing this book because so many people around me are in situations or conditions that may cause great stress. I am not sure if they are aware of it but they do exhibit symptoms of depression and anxiety. They do not have clinical depression or anxiety disorder but I fear if there is not enough awareness, they may succumb to the complications of stress. Stress not only causes mental illness but also causes chronic illnesses such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, heart disease and cancer.

    Mental illness is poorly understood because just like pain it cannot be measured objectively because the experience is rather subjective. Furthermore, you will not be able to fully empathize with the other person if you don’t understand what it feels like.This book is about stress, the effects of it and causes of it. It is about making you aware of the situations that cause stress and
