      Spirituality is a word often used to describe a person’s connection to their soul, God, higher self and higher purpose in life. Religion is a set of rules that is followed; spirituality is an individual and interpersonal connection that doesn’t follow a specific set of rules. It’s just you and your connection to your spirit and God, however that looks.

      As society is evolving there’s a strong surge in the idea of living a spiritual life, with plenty of books, workshops, and centers out there to help people learn how to connect to themselves and their spirit. Millions and millions of people are exploring a more spiritual path compared to a religious one. They even refer to themselves as being spiritual versus religious. This movement has opened the door for many self- proclaimed spiritual teachers, healers, counselors, and more to come forth. Be careful about this.

      There’s a historical saying about, Walking the Talk that usually refers to the hypocrisy of a religious person lecturing others on their religion while living a life that is not true to that religion. Like preaching the sanctity of marriage while having an affair. The same problem haunts the spiritual community.
