    This book explores and examines the ways we draw nearer to God by putting off the old life and taking on the new life. I never really started growing as a Christian until I allowed Jesus to become Lord of my life everyday – not just on Sunday.

    This requires putting away old thinking and old habits. It also requires a renewing of the mind, body and soul that can only come from a fresh walk with Christ Jesus!

    Dr. Richard Sparks created Lionheart Ministries in Athens, Al. in 1997 to break down the walls of traditions in the church today. He has served as the pastor of Southwind Christian Center from 1997 till 2012 and Lionheart Christian Church from 2012 till present. He serves as President of Lionheart Ministries and Lionheart Christian Academy.Richard has been a Project Engineering Manager in the Nuclear Power Industry for over 30 years. Richard has taught in both the industrial settings and at the college level. Richard has degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering and Human Factors Engineering. He is a Navy Veteran.Richard has been married to Sheila Sparks since 1979. Sheila is the founder of Lionheart Christian Academy. The Sparks have one daughter Telitha and one granddaughter Ella.
