Preface
Search plays an important and permeating role in our lives. It is primarily used to optimize our resources or minimize the risk in our daily lives. It takes many forms and shapes – checking on the weather, looking up traffic, analysing performance of the stock market, searching for shopping deals, catching up in social networks and following current events. We perform these searches in various ways – our own senses, flipping through TV channels, conversing with other people and using various websites, apps or devices.
What is the manifesto?

Search is always evolving and changing. It encompasses data, content, processes, user experience, analytics and software. This manifesto will explain the concepts of search, user behaviours and technologies. Given the different types of search, enterprise and customer facing search are of importance to most organizations and this book will focus on these two types.
Why is the manifesto required?
