Reviews for A Mother's Guide to Multiplication
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was both simple, yet informative. It included the perfect balance of visuals, examples, and relevant information. The best part of it was the way the information is set out in a simplistic format, making it ideal for the suitable audience. It also has very cool ways to remember tricky math formulas and patters that I personally had never seen. Any child would be happy to read this book, and can certainly pick up some life long skills through the practice of visual and textual learning strategies.

Chapter One
Multiplication
Repeated addition of a same number is known as multiplication.
For multiplication we use symbol ×
What is multiplication? Consider an example:
2+2+2+2=8
Here we are adding 2, 4 times. In multiplication we write it as
4 × 2 = 8
Similarly
2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2 =20
10 × 2 =20
This makes the addition much easier. In order to make it easier we need to learn the 2’s time table.
The first step to learn the 2’s time table is to learn skip counting in 2’s.
Try to learn to count in 2’s …
2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24….
You can even play as a game between 2 or more people and learn to do skip counting.
Now let’s look at the 2’s time table
From the above table you can see that 1×2 =2
But 1+1=2
Similarly, 1+1+1+1+1 = 5
5×1=5
So any number multiplied by 1 will be the number itself
So let’s look at 1’s time
