From Darkness to Light - Tom Slone
Foreword One
Tom Slone is a remarkable man with a remarkable story. His life from his earliest childhood seemed to be destined for tragedy. Growing up unwanted among the gangs of Chicago’s Southside, Tom experienced ridicule and neglect, as well as physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of the very ones who should have protected him from those things. Forced to fight or die, Tom became a fighter, a gang leader and master in the occult practices of witchcraft. In his book, From Darkness to Light, Tom shares not only the circumstances, but also the hidden thoughts and feelings that transformed him from a wide-eyed little boy into a violent predator.
But Tom's story is not a tragedy; his story is one of redemption. This is the story of hopelessness transformed into hope, fear transformed into faith, and hatred transformed into love. It is the story of a broken man and of a miraculous God who reached into the utter darkness to rescue him and give him new life.
Years ago, we found a stray dog. His fur was a tangled mess; he was wild, aggressive, lacked manners, and clearly had learned to hunt to survive. The amazing thing about that dog is he seemed to remember what he had been rescued from and appreciated our home and family in a way other animals we have had did not. This occasionally can also be true of people. They remember what life was once like and seem to cherish more than others what they have been given in Christ. Jesus said, He who has been forgiven much loves much.
Tom is such a man. He remembers in vivid detail what his life was like without Jesus and has never lost that fresh gratitude and amazement at all Jesus has done for him.
Today, the violent gang-banger is long gone. Tom is a gentle, loving, and tenderhearted Pastor, teacher, evangelist, husband, father, and friend. He has a simple yet profound faith built upon a deep love of the scriptures and passion to walk in the ways of Jesus. His story is a living fulfillment of God's promise to transfer us out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son. He truly has gone from darkness to light.

Foreword Two
It has been my privilege to know Pastor Tom Slone for about 35 years. (Ordained 11-12-84. It will be 34 years on 11-12-18.)
I saw a man full of joy and optimism, and humble before God and His Son Jesus Christ.
As Tom shared his past on a tour through his old neighborhood where he was a gang leader in Chicago, I realized that his heart and mind had been renewed and transformed by the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
He has great compassion for all people and gives extended time and effort to those who come (seek or call) for ministry. He is like a rapid-fire machine gun equipped with the ammunition of revelation, wisdom, and prophesy. I'm so happy and thankful to see his life story reveal the truth of the gospel of God's love and grace through Jesus Christ to this generation.
God bless your (Heaven-sent) ministry to those who have failed over and over again. Praise God that real life begins through following and trusting Jesus with your life! (Just as it is right now!)

Preface
This book documents the story of my life from before I was born up until the time I was taken to Heaven and had a supernatural encounter with God on March 4, 1979. It is at this time that God wanted me to write about my experiences and publish this book. My extreme transformation from Satanism, being involved in organized crime and living my life as a gang leader, to becoming a follower of Jesus Christ, means God can save anyone.
God wants to touch the lives of many people supernaturally through the testimony He has given me. I was born into a disadvantaged family of gang members on the South Side of Chicago and suffered abuse from the beginning of my life – only to be rescued and mentored by a powerful Satanic high priest. I became a very powerful sorcerer and as mean as a junkyard dog, quickly rising to become a gang leader and exact revenge on the people who had hurt me or would cross me.
Part of the perspective given in this book includes what God showed me was taking place in the spiritual realm before we came to Earth and while we are living on Earth. The insights He showed me explain how the good and evil forces work to influence and at times control our lives.
Since choosing to accept Jesus Christ and to serve Him, I have graduated from Christ for the Nations Institute and traveled the world preaching, teaching, and testifying the good news of Jesus Christ. For many years I was asked to write the story of my life but was never released to do it. I went from being a gang leader to speaking and ministering in a variety of churches, and at one point I felt like many churches acted just like a bunch of gangs, with all their doctrinal and theological differences.
Today is a new day. There is a hunger and openness to supernatural heavenly encounters and revelations, and people in general are ready to learn deeper things from God.
I wanted to thank my family, my wife, Dana, Karman and the whole Morey family, and many other people who have believed in me and supported the work of God in my life.
Chapter 1:
I Knew You Before You
Were Born
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." Jeremiah 1:5, King James Version (KJV)
The phrase "I knew you before you were in your mother’s womb means
we had a relationship before you came to Earth."
There was an eternal day eons ago when all the light beings came together, enjoying the heart of the Father, the depths of His wonderful love, and the delights of the heavenly realms. We were similar to angelic beings – full of energy, happiness, and excitement, playing in the wonderful rainbow waters of light and life, enjoying the sweetness, the loving embrace and the gentle movements of the winds, and the caressing, loving expressions of the fatherhood and divine motherhood of God. We were oblivious to the future, just knowing that we were precious in His sight and that His thoughts were like the sands of the seashore for each one of us. We so loved our times together as friends, and because of the supernatural state of the world itself, we were able to enjoy and know the Father, so holy and divine with His feminine heart. For us, the supreme heavenly realms were places to enjoy, play, and have communication with our friends. Some heavenly friends would even be connected to us in the future, so on that day when we would have met again on Earth, we would say, "It seems like we’ve met before."
In those supernatural realms created by Father God, we would dance, sing, be entertained, and enjoy all the wonderful, exciting pathways and amazing portals that took us wherever we liked in the universes of the Creator’s love, protection, kindness, and tenderness. Wherever we went, we always felt that we were light beings of love. The purity was so good, the excitement was so fantastic, and the memory of it was so profound. We all loved the special foods and drinks of light, and every created thing was made of light and alive in its own special way. The communication we experienced was beyond words and natural knowledge. It was so special because we communicated through knowing inside of ourselves what was really being conveyed, and in the same manner we responded back to each other via this spiritual, indescribable
inner communication. Understanding and comprehending exactly what was being communicated was so pure and enjoyable.
We had lots of good times when we existed before the beginning of time with Father God; we had each other as friends, along with angelic friends who would later become our guardians in our future earthly missions. We used to talk together and wonder about our future missions on Earth, but really, we had no idea what they would be like. We would talk to the Father about our future in the earthly world where we would become changed into another form of being, created in His image. We were told that being sent into that world would lead us to receive the most fantastic, wonderful Entity into our hearts and lives: Jesus Christ, the resurrected King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We would see parts of our future on Earth, talk with one another about the images we saw and the feelings, emotions and expressions we experienced, and try to comprehend the meaning of these future events. Even when we were contemplating our future earthly missions with the Father, He would assure us that what He began, He would surely finish and bring to completion through His Precious Son.
We were all excited about the time when we would be placed inside a woman’s womb and then become a human being. We could not comprehend or understand these things fully, yet we eagerly awaited our turn to go. The meaning of living a new life on Earth as a human being was beyond us because we lived in such a fantastic, magical world where anything we wanted was pure and was given to us. All of our friends seemed to always be with us, and so we never even considered being apart. The angels enjoyed playing with us, and they communicated and
