      Preface

      My main intention, while writing this book, was to portray my feelings and emotions in my life in a very personal and intimate way.

      The book has a very simple language because it deals mostly with matters of the heart, i.e. love, friendship, hate, fears, sadness and rejection.

      The first poem is entitled Pieces of my Life and it was used as the choice for the title of the book. Therefore, I decided to place it right at the beginning. This poem acts as a guide throughout the whole book due to the emotional intensity attached to it.

      There are obviously many other strong poems such as Heartbreak, Tears, Fire, This Love, True Love, and so many others, with which anyone can relate to.

      I cite Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke as being my biggest influences in the book. The lyrics of their own songs gave me inspiration to keep writing more and even better.
