    Dennis Herrell’s collection of poems, "Letting Go", shares his memories and reflections about the death of a close friend. Letting go can be one of the most personal and difficult moments in our lives. Loved ones, friends, parents, marriages, pets, homes, prized possessions, long-held beliefs—these are part of the foundations of our lives. And then, suddenly, they are gone, taken away from us. These persons, things, and moments are all important to us, some more than others. Some we can, and do replace. And move on with our lives. Some will always stay with us in our memories. The following poems share some memories of his friend Sims. Dennis would say that Sims was an intellectual, a comical spirit, a realist, and an adventurer. All in all, a delightful and intriguing person to have in his life. It is not something he can put a price on, so Dennis shares it with you freely. It is his gift to you.
    Dennis Herrell’s readers might find a dash of irony or humor, a bit of psychology or philosophy, or a twist of structure and phrasing that is all Dennis.
