ABOUT THE AUTHOR
FOREWORD
For a number of years , I traveled throughout the United States, and even overseas, conducting what we called Holy Ghost Meetings. At the time, there was a great move of the Holy Spirit going on, and many churches and believers were hungry to know how to cooperate with God to see the Spirit move freely in their services and in their lives.
These meetings would often go for a week, and sometimes Pastors would even want to carry the meetings further into the following week. The supernatural was common in these meetings. As we would teach on the various ways in which the Holy Spirit desires to manifest Himself, faith would collectively rise in the hearts of those present, and the very things we were teaching about would begin to occur. On occasion, when we would call different ones to come forward for ministry, they could not get to the platform or to the front where we were standing. The glory of God would be so strong in those meetings that when they would get close to the front, they would become overwhelmed with the presence of God and could not get near (see 2 Chronicles 7:1-2).
It would take too long to tell at length all the things that I personally experienced during this season of ministry, but sometimes I look back and wonder what happened to it all. God has not changed, and His Word has not changed, but it seems that the hunger for the power and presence of God has diminished in the people of God - at least in the west. In many areas of the world, it is another thing entirely.
While this book does not address all the truths relevant to regaining the move of God’s Spirit in our churches, I do know that for me, my adventures with God’s power and presence began with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. I was filled with the Spirit on April 1, 1984 (yes, April Fool’s Day), and I have been enjoying the fruit of that experience for the last 35 years. No other experience, outside my salvation, has had such a significant impact on my life or opened the door to so much of God’s bounty.
Perhaps, in some ways, therein lies the key to again seeing the
