Mucha gente se pregunta sobre el atractivo de la ciudad, es posible describir sus múltiples bondades que inclusive lo intangible te lo cuenta, además del clima es el calor de una población de las mas vibrantes del Pacífico el que envuelve, te atrae y te dice siempre bienvenido.
Por donde arribemos a Guayaquil veremos modernidad, comercio, dinamismo, gente con creatividad y originalidad para vivir, así como naturaleza con diferentes hábitats: manglar, bosques tropicales y el gran río Guayas conviviendo en armonía. Es así como abordando un transporte público con servicio y gente de calidad te tratan como a un familiar. Escuchando su ameno modismo te incluyen en su conversación, te indican lo que necesites y se despiden como amigos; acompañados de la música de Julio Jaramillo o noticias sobre su equipo de futbol favorito sea este amarillo o azul. Parte de la ciudad son los clásicos buses selectivos, la actual metrovía o la esperada aerovía en una ciudad que se merece y consigue grandezas pues es el principal puerto de Ecuador por el cual ingresa y sale la mayor parte del comercio del país.
Esta ciudad se forjó superando desde su creación amenazas como saqueos, ataques piratas e incendios que devastaban la arquitectura inicial de la actual Guayaquil nacida junto al río Guayas majestuoso cómplice y testigo del crecimiento, vigilado por los cerros Santa Ana y El Carmen con historias cada uno, regenerados a un actual y feliz término como postales de la ciudad.
Este es el escenario ideal para el Guayaco que camina con prosa, así como con cadencia y aplomo la Guayaquileña para los cuales en algún instante es normal comer en un quiosco al paso, degustando hasta chuparse los dedos las delicias en las huecas preparadas como en una gran casa. La gente de Guayaquil se ha apropiado de exquisitos platos que no importa el origen, pero son tan amantes del encebollado, la guatita, los mariscos, el seco de gallina, la menestra, el seco de chivo y tantos mas.
En esta escena de hermandad que fluye la jerga y se escucha en los barrios: madrina póngale más que tengo una quina pórtese vacán que no me voy a caleta sin pegarme una biela. El guayaco o guayaquileño de a pie se divierte y es creativo trabajando o camellando para ganar la güita, él te acolita y te dice ñaño. Aquí en Guayaquil vacila una pelada, le cabrea si eres sabido o lámpara no le gusta esa movida; se saca la madre camellando, se pega una ruca, te aguanta un chance para una jama y en viernes chiquito se va de chupa porque si jala.
El presente libro es una parte de la expresión guayaquileña pues quedan pendiente los dibujos al ver esta paleta de personajes, paisajes con ritmo y platos con colores infinitos. Es esta ciudad de esencia donde siempre quisiera volver con pinceles y pinturas que fluyen con sensibilidad transmitida por su gente.
