Heavenly Father, you said, with all thy getting get understanding. Father, I pray that this book will help to resolve confusion and disillusion about tithing. Empower each reader with your divine revelation and wisdom. Loose and liberate those bound by false doctrines and erroneous fables. Father, you said, your people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge. Allow this book to declare your will and your word to each person that is seeking to know the truth about tithing. Let your spoken Word and written Word reveal the Word that became flesh and dwelled among us. Let every lie be revealed and rebuked, because you declared that we shall know the truth. Father, we know the time will come when some will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lust shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. Rebuke every hindrance to stop the publishing, promotion, and purchasing of this book. In the name of Jesus, I ask and pray. Amen!

With this book, I hope you will find the answers to the puzzling questions about tithing. We are living in a time when there is so much misinformation and false teachings about this subject. I hope and pray that this book will heal the spirit of division over this subject and restore the ecumenical harmony across denominational lines. This powerful revelation on tithing will bless your soul, spirit and church.
With over 30 years in the ministry, I have never heard tithing taught from the "covenant" perspective. This book will dispel the infamous myth that tithing was only under the Law and only for Old Testament time. This book will challenge every doubt and disbelief you may have for not tithing. If you are a Pastor, your church will need to read this book. If your church is suffering from the lack of giving within the pews, this truth will set them free. The Spirit of God and this book will empower you to change minds and lives. Be blessed!
God is a God of Protection, Provision, and Prosperity. As we began teaching tithing from the "COVENANT foundation, it will transform hearers to doers, believers to receivers, and tippers to tithers! When you enter into a
sincere" agreement (covenant) with the Lord, He will keep His promise to you! Many that teach tithing put emphasis on the calamity caused from curses. Some teach tithing as a necessity to keep the church economy going. You should tithe because you want to honor God for allowing you to be a steward over His blessings that He has entrusted in your care. Tithing is not a dispensational doctrine (Law), but an eternal principle. Tithing is not a commandment, but a COVENANT! I can prove it!
Chapter 1 THE THEOLOGY OF TITHNG
I have found that no matter what social circle you travel in, every class of people communicates with a certain jargon or vernacular within their circle. As it is in Corporate America or in the class rooms of America, so it is among theologians and bible scholars. You can distinguish who is who by certain buzz
words articulated by them. When I read certain books, I can surmise whom the author is impressed with or whom the author is trying to impress. Certainly, it is not my intention to use theological terms to sound impressive. It is essential that we engage on this level in order to comprehend this subject from a theologian’s perspective. What do I mean when I say a theologian’s perspective? Theologians use a scientific approach when it comes to biblical expository. They desire facts rather than spiritual revelations. They seek after exegetical explanations versus emotional experiences. Theologians and bible scholars do not interpret every word of the bible literally. They pursue a cultural, geographical, linguistic, grammatical and historical approach. All of these perspectives are inclusive in a term called hermeneutics.
What is hermeneutics?
Hermeneutics is the study of the theory and practice of interpretation.
It is the study of the interpretation
of written texts, especially in the areas of literature, religion and law (Wikipedia).
When it comes to interpreting the written text of the bible, the bible speaks primarily in four senses. They are literally, spiritually, metaphorically, and symbolically.
Literal sense has no exaggeration to the text. Not subject to interpretation, accurate, and specific. Every word means exactly what it says.
Exodus 20:13 "Thou shalt not kill."
There is no hidden meaning within the text. It means just what it states. God commanded the human race not to take an innocent human’s life.
Spiritual sense perceives the text from a heavenly or supernatural way of thinking. The interpretation is not natural or literal, but connects the readers to God’s realm or way of thinking.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
This scripture is a prime example of how someone can get the wrong understanding if they don’t understand the different senses of interpretation. If one takes this scripture literally, they would think that Jesus was advocating cannibalism. Proper exegesis of the text let us know that He was explaining to His hearers that He came as the Lamb of God, sacrificed for the sins of the world.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Israelites celebrate the eating of unleavened bread to symbolize the haste to exodus out of Egypt when God delivered them. Christians today eat the wafer and drink the juice to symbolize the body and blood, which Christ sacrificed for our sins. A lamb is sacrifice for the covering of man’s sins (Passover). Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins (Heb 9:22). In case you are not familiar with this concept, it was derived from when Adam and Eve sinned. When they discovered that they were naked, God killed an animal to cover their nakedness. Innocent blood was shed for their disobedience. Therefore there is no remission (pardon) of sins, without the shedding of blood. Jesus offered himself as the sacrifice once and for all.
Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Eucharist, Communion and Lord’s Supper are names most people prefer to use.
Another example of the spiritual sense would be the death of Lazarus. Jesus told his disciples that Lazarus was sleep, when actually Lazarus was dead. Humanity perceives death as the finality of life, but Jesus views it as one that is only sleep.
John 11:11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. John 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. John 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Please notice the language of verse 14 of the text. "Then said Jesus unto them plainly," letting us know that the previous conversation was not a
