Acknowledgement
I wish to thank my friend, Ian Wolstenholme, for his help and advice, and for his kind words in the foreword of this book. I wish to thank my cousin, Paul Boland BSc, author of The God Particle
, who did all the editing and formatting for me, and without whom I could not have produced this work in print. I wish to thank my partner and my 3 children, who put up with my madness
and loved me anyway. Most of all, I wish to thank God, for everything.
Chapter six is dedicated to my son, Dylan, who asked me to include this question.
Foreword
I met The Author, Eleanor Keyes who grew up in 1970’s Dublin, Ireland, through her sharing of one of my video-interviews on the internet, in which she expressed that it was her favourite Demonstration of non-dual awareness, as there was very little talking during the interview. I invited her to meet up with me via a Skype session. She shared her experience of her Awakening with me, along with more information about herself and her life. She asked for my help in integrating her awakening into her life in the everyday world, and I gave her some advice on the matter, and shared some of my own experiences with her. We discussed the fact that she had been put on medication by her G.P. years earlier, due to what he deemed to be a Psychological Disorder, I informed her that he was mistaken and that she was actually what I call a Super-Sensitive
, which was the Real reason for her panic-attack symptoms, i.e. bodily tremors and feelings of heightened awareness and a connection to a Source of information not ordinarily experienced by the average person. She told me about this book, Beyond Beliefs, which she was in the process of writing, and upon hearing of its contents, I remarked that it sounded like something that I myself would write. After hearing her reasons for writing it, I agreed to her request to write a foreword for it.
This book is the story of the author's personal journey through life, and her search for the underlying Spiritual Truth of her existence, her search for some understanding of the many Spiritual experiences she has had throughout her life, and a sharing of some mindfulness techniques, which she found were invaluable in helping her to come to some stability in the face of her life's many challenges.
Her Reason for writing this book, is in the hope that the contents may help others to overcome similar obstacles to the ones she was faced with, and I am more than happy to be a part of this with her.
Ian Wolstenholme.
Introduction
This book contains a series of questions and answers between a teacher and a student, on the subject of self-development, which were given to Me in the form of old journals that were kept by a student of Spiritual Development during her training many years ago.
It contains techniques and principals that helped the student to dissemble all past conditioning, and enabled her to get to the core of her Being, before rebuilding herself from scratch.
Some years ago, I was given a box of old journals by an elderly neighbour, who was aware of my interest in books on Philosophy and the nature of Human Consciousness. He told me that the journals had belonged to his late mother and had ended up in his possession. He felt that I might find them interesting as they had been written by his mother, while she was still a young woman, during her years as a student of a spiritual teacher on the subject of consciousness and the nature of existence.
Upon reading these journals, I incorporated the principals and techniques therein into my daily life, with great results in my understanding of the nature of my own inner and outer life.
I wish to share some of these questions and answers with you, the reader, along with my experiences gained through their use, with the sincere wish that readers may find the material herein as useful in their endeavours towards Self-knowledge, as I did when I applied them to my own life upon receiving them.
There is such a volume of material in the journals that it would not be possible to fit them all into one book, so, there may be subsequent editions forthcoming, depending on the level of interest in this edition.
BEYOND BELIEFS

Chapter One
My life Before The Teaching.
I'm about five years old and my mother and I are walking my grandmother to her bus-stop, she'd been to visit us that morning for coffee and a catch-up on recent events. They're discussing the big row that my parents had the night before, a frequent event in our house, and my Nan was giving my Mam some advice on the matter.
While they were talking I was tugging at my mam's sleeve and asking her repeatedly, why do we have to be born?
She was ignoring my questioning, but my nan heard me and said do you hear what your child is asking you?
Do you see what your behaviour is doing to your child"?
My mam looked at me for a second, then told me to stop interrupting the grown-ups when they're speaking, then she went back to talking about how they'd made up
after the row and how everything was sorted out now. That was my first time to question my existence out loud
, but certainly not my first time to question it inwardly, to myself, this was frequently pondered.
That same year I started school, and while my classmates ran around the schoolyard playing games during break-time, I preferred to spend my time sitting under the big tree in the yard and play with fallen leaves beneath it. I remember looking closely at the lines on the underside of a leaf and comparing the pattern to the veins on the back of my hand, the similarity intrigued me.
One day I asked my teacher about it, she had come over to see what I was doing, and asked me why I wasn't playing games with the other children. I told her, excitedly, that this game was way more interesting than their games. I asked her about the nature
of trees, she told me there were many different types of trees, and that this one was called a Plane Tree, I told her that it was anything but Plain
, she giggled and agreed.
I said to her that a tree must be like a person, in that we all have different names, but we are all a person
, just like all trees by different names and shapes and sizes are a tree
... she agreed that this was true.
I guess that could be considered my first ever philosophical discussion
. Looking back now I see that I'd never made a choice to become a seeker after truth
, I was simply Born that way, pre-disposed to look deeply into the Nature of Existence, to question everything in my experience.
Time passed and I discovered more and more things that intrigued me, like, what is a rainbow? Where does the sun go at night? Where does the moon go during the day? and by about the age of seven I was noticing the difference between the things that interested me, and the things that other people around me seemed to find interesting. The gap between my inner-world
and my outer circumstances was Unfathomable.
My home life was a Living Hell, I would be beaten for the least thing, for instance, once I came home a little later than expected, I had been out playing with a friend and we had went into her cousin's house for tea, I was nine years old. I walked in the door and my mother, picked up a really large, really heavy oak kitchen chair and threw it to the floor a few times until it broke, she then took one of the legs from it, and beat me across my back with it until I passed out from the pain. I don't know how long she beat me for after that, I just remember screaming mammy I'm sorry
for (what seemed like) a Long time.
She kept me out of school for the next few days, as I couldn't walk properly, giving me a note for the teacher when I went back, which said that I had the flu for a week. There was no use telling the truth, nobody would believe it, and I'd be beaten again if I did tell, I knew that. There were seven of us children, but only three were treated well, me and three of my brothers were treated like, I could say "like
