      Introduction

      Life is powered by blood. Negative or positive, nobody makes significant impact on earth without blood. Nobody. A bloodless man is one who does not make impact on earth that is why the business of blood sacrifice is so deep in the heart of the primitive man.

      Leviticus 17:11 says that the life of the flesh is in the blood. Now, if we stop there, it would mean that the life of the flesh is in the blood of that flesh. But the next line after that statement tells us that is not exactly what God was trying to communicate because it says the life of the flesh is in the blood, and He has given it unto us for an atonement upon the altar. So, you see that He was saying something different. If it was just referring to your life, how will your life be poured upon the altar?

      For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

      ~ Leviticus 17:11 (NKJV).

      That passage means that the life of a man is powered by blood. God has given man blood upon the altar for his life. If you are going to experience life, blood must be on an altar for you. So, any man who is experiencing life on this earth has blood on an altar, be it positive or negative. The life of every flesh is in the blood and he has given it unto him as an atonement for the soul on the altar. If your soul is going to experience the richness of life on earth, then, you must have blood on an altar. That is the purpose of blood on an altar.

      If you will do well on earth, you must know what blood is working for you on the altar, and how to activate and see it work for you. Most Christians live without a full consciousness of the blood, and that’s why people who seem to do other blood sacrifices seem to beat them on their turf. A lot of Christians approach life without blood consciousness. They approach life with their confidence in behavioural modification. Good works, good behaviour are by-products of our nature as the righteousness of God in Christ, but they are not the basis of our victory on earth. To make significant impact on earth, that is not enough. The blood must be speaking for you. Life is powered by the blood!

      Therefore, as believers, it is of great essence that we live in vital consciousness of our blood sacrifice. We must come to the realisation that there is blood on the altar for our lives, and we must live in the consciousness of this reality.

      The blood of Jesus fulfilled the demand of justice upon our lives. In other words, it is the blood that has redeemed us, made us worthy of God, and accepted in Him. It is not by whatever we did, it is not by being morally excellent, rather, it is what Jesus did—the blood that He shed on
