      First and foremost, I want to thank the true author of this book, Spirit, for entrusting me with the message and for believing that in spite of my many computer challenges, I would somehow be able to get the message typed and delivered!

      I would like to thank my husband, Philip Joseph Byrne IV, for his encouragement throughout this process to stay on track and finish the book. When I had questions or doubted my abilities, he would always direct me to Why don’t you just ask the Author of the book what you’re supposed to do next! In spite of the fact that both Spirit and I teased him relentlessly throughout the book, he kept his usual good sense of humor and never doubted either of us.

      I want to thank Autumn Shields for allowing me to use her picture on the cover of our book. The picture was symbolic of the CHOICES we all have to make from time to time; frightening and overwhelming as they may seem…when we listen to and follow our inner guidance, Spirit, we are guaranteed to find the happiness we seek.

      In an effort to forge a better life for herself and her son, Autumn showed great courage in leaving the comfort and security of her family, friends and all of her acquaintances behind to embark on a new life in Maui which is where the photo was taken. I love you Autumn!

      And last but certainly not least, I want to thank Samantha Astarte, my Doberman and best friend, pictured with me on the Author photo for coming into my life and teaching me about unconditional love. The CHOICE to let her go was one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make!

      Oops, not done yet, I really want to thank Kari Helmer with Balboa Press for her extreme and unwavering patience in helping me get this book out there! I couldn’t figure out how to do anything that was required of me (even when she sent step by step instructions; and PICTURES) and yet….with her support, it was all accomplished!

      IN THE BEGINNING

      It is important to know the truths about our existence: We are not alone—we have hundreds, thousands, millions of spirit guides, angels, ascendant masters, animal guides and teachers who are looking out for our best interests every single day of our lives.

      Why then, you might ask, is my life so complex, so unorganized and in so much turmoil? For one simple reason and only one: You do not yet realize that you are worthy to receive assistance from such highly recognized and important beings. Therefore, you do not ask for their assistance. And, if you ever do, it’s just a matter of formality and you ask with doubt in your heart, never truly believing that you will receive anything but more bad luck. This is a deadly spiral that we all, at some time or another, bring upon ourselves.

      I read somewhere that the Angels in heaven are jealous of us because we are here on earth in magnificent, earthly, bodies and have the opportunity to grow and to become all that our souls’ desire for us. Yet, we slumber, we complain, we argue, we negate so many of our precious Spirit-given gifts simply because we refuse to use them. Spiritual muscle is very much the same as physical muscle…you use it or you lose it!

      Too many times we allow fear of the unknown to cloud our decision making. A leap of faith seems totally out of the question but, a leap of faith is sometimes exactly what is required.

      Believe and it shall be made manifest to you. Don’t be like Doubting Thomas that had to see for himself with his physical eyes, and touch with his physical hands. See and touch with your spiritual eyes and your spiritual hands, for only then have you fully felt and seen.

      For as the Divine is Spirit, so are you. We are in this world but not of this world. We are truly of Spirit, so why have we been hitting our physical heads against a brick wall trying to solve spiritual matters with a physical brain?

      There is a verse about the definition of insanity: it’s when we exhibit the same behavior as we always do (do the same thing) and expect different results. It’s not working folks…isn’t it time we tried a different approach?
