Identity - Paige English
Ocean Waters
Anger filled me like ocean waters
My veins bursting with rage
Boiling darkness consumed my thoughts
As I hid in the shadows of my father’s embrace
My eyes hid mountains on memories
All ending the same way
A beautiful girl with burdens the size of the world
And a God who took them away
Summer
The air is stale and warm
Outside the raise are beaming
Inside the sound of fan blades hum
And the hornets in the window are singing
My skin is slick with sweat
My head is dull with boredom
The cat lazily watches the fly dance
As imagine plays on the
