Reviews for Walking with Jesus
1 rating1 review
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Kinda misses the main point. The primary order of business in 'walking with Jesus' is to continually work on the renovation of one's inner being, what we might call the mind and heart, in order to create it as Jesus and the Spirit desire and require. This publication helps little in actually identifying in a practical way what that should look like.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6, NLT
Introduction
You Are Amazing
Deciding to follow Christ is the most critical choice you will ever make. If you have recently made this decision, I want to be one of the first to tell you how proud I am of you and excited for the journey that lies ahead. I will never forget the day when I surrendered my life to Christ and began my journey. It’s a story that I will soon share with you.
Over the next few pages we will explore some of the things that took place when you made your commitment to God, and some of the next steps you need to take. I encourage you to get out a pen, open your Bible, and take some notes.
Chapter One: Beginnings
Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!
- Genesis 1:31, NLT
When a parent holds their child for the first time, images of destiny flood their mind. Perhaps they’ll become president, discover the cure for cancer, or win a gold medal in the Olympics. The point is, a good parent never looks at that new life and says, I hope you grow up to be a failure.
No, they see a world of opportunity. A glance at the creation story in Genesis gives us a picture of God’s original plan of destiny for us all.
The Rhythm of Creation
Poetry has a way of sticking with you. In the recesses of my mind, I can still pull upon poems from days gone by. The Bible starts with this amazing, beautiful, and rhythmic poem of creation:
God creates [day and night], and
it's good…
God creates [sky and waters], and
it's good…
God creates [land and sea], and
it's good…
God creates [stars and moon], and
it's good…
God creates [fish and birds], and
it's good…
God creates [animals], and
it's
