About this ebook
Eleanor had long ago stopped wondering what had really happened to her mother or why her father couldn't even bring himself to say her name.
But when Eleanor's grandmother dies, she finds herself inheriting something far more than just a house in the country. She is the last in a line of women dedicated to the protection of the Wyld, a hidden world of seductive fae, shapeshifters, and floating memories, where Eleanor herself has powers.
Of course, all of this seems impossible. But it is also the only way Eleanor can discover the truth about her mother's death.
Part 1 of the series, contains steamy scenes, mystery and strange characters... Human rules don't apply!

The Healer - ER Parker
Prologue
Eleanor was waist-deep in the river when her grandmother died.
First, she was overcome with the sensation of being outside of her body. Nothing changed. She wasn’t floating over herself or anything like that. She simply felt, inexplicably, that she was no longer inside her own body. After that, everything went numb. Not an unpleasant numbness, just all the everyday sensations of the body fading away. Finally, a warmth swept over her. Exhilaration filled her, while at the same time, she felt suddenly exhausted. Then she was floating back into her body.
She blinked. She was exactly where she had been a second ago. The river was flowing just as it had been. The Himalayan Balsom she was recording was still flowering on the bank in front of her. The rest of the team was standing on the bank.
Nothing had changed, but everything felt different.
"She realized someone was calling her name. She looked around.
Eleanor? Are you okay?
Mark was waving at her from the bank.
Yeah... yeah, why?
"I’ve been calling you for like, two minutes. Your Dad’s calling your mobile.
My Dad?
Her phone was on the bank with all their equipment.
That’s what it says. Damn it, did you drop the clipboard?
Eleanor looked down. Sure enough, the wooden board was floating a few feet away from her. She must have dropped it when... whatever happened had happened.
Goddamit!
Look, he’s left like five missed calls. Shall I answer him?
No, I’m coming. Give me one second.
What the hell had just happened to her? And why the hell was Dad calling her while she was on field research? Whatever it was, it better be important.
Chapter 1
The house came into view long before they reached the gates.
Nestled in the center of a low valley, it was visible from the road once the car crested one of the surrounding hills. It was one of those places you saw all the time when driving through the country, Eleanor thought. Old manor houses that must have once been deep in the wild countryside, now with their grand vistas replaced by the intrusive B-Roads.
A waist-height stone wall ran along the edge of the road, marking the edge of the property. At the midpoint, a pair of high, brick gateposts marked the beginning of the long dirt driveway.
Eleanor looked over at her father. I thought you said it was a house.
He kept his eyes on the road. It is a house.
It’s a mansion.
I never said it was a small house.
You’re an idiot. You know that?
Eleanor laughed under her breath.
He hadn’t even known
