The Fringe is comprised of indie authors and artists who, in addition to all being members of the Goodreads group Fringe Fiction, share the belief that creativity can grow and thrive in an atmosphere of respect, honesty, and friendship. Publishing is rich with hidden gems and diamonds-in-the-rough that belong to self-published, indie and otherwise underappreciated authors. Fringe Fiction is devoted to those who admire such individuals and want an outlet to discuss under-the-radar books with readers eager to discover fresh talent by obscure authors. Indie aficionados who welcome such recommendations and are enthusiastic about giving them are encouraged to let members know what they might be overlooking in the lesser-known corners of publishing.

The Fringe Poetry Magazine 2022 follows the success of the previous five Magazines and The Fringe Poetry On the Move and The Fringe Poetry Festival series of poetry pamphlets and e-pamphlets and from two books, The Fringe Poetry Cafe and The Fringe Poetry White Book.
'The Fringe' is a poetry collective based in the North West of England.
We received a tremendous national and international response to our call for submissions- from across the Uk, Ireland, North and South America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Africa- particularly Nigeria, and India and Nepal. All submissions received at least four readings and some many more.
As previously, the poets selected represent a cross section of experience from those already heavily published, and known nationally and internationally, to emerging writers with something genuine to say. Some of the poetry here requires reading and rereading to fully appreciate the emotional content.
The Magazine includes varied subject matter, expressive techniques and forms. This includes poetry written in European traditional forms and Haiku, Haibun, Beat poetry and Trance poetry.
We were, principally, looking for integrity of purpose in the submissions and in some cases the strength of feeling is encouragingly raw and emotional.
Some poets have omitted punctuation and, in the pieces we have chosen, we believe this works well. Some pieces are, clearly, experimental and we have included these as a challenge to the reader. They are included for their quality of expression, brightness of concept and openness of interpretation.
If you were unsuccessful in gaining inclusion in this issue please do not be discouraged from submitting in the future.
We are grateful to everyone who submitted work and it is refreshing to see such a range of creative output. Please keep it up.
