I would like to thank my family and friends for helping me write and make my writing sound better. I would also like to thank my favorite authors; if not for them I would just be watching TV and playing video games.
Prologue
A long time ago, in a faraway place, there was a town that at the far end of it were the woods, and in those woods were a village that was full of vampires and their kids, the dhampirs- half human and half vampires- on one side of the woods. And on the other side was a village full of shape-shifters. They each stayed away from humans, but now and then, humans would come on one of their lands and either be a vampire or be imprinted on by a shape-shifter. Neither one of the species knew about each other nor did they go near each other. Until a dhampir and a shape-shifter met each other one day.
Chapter 1
On one side of the woods, where the shape-shifters lived, Lake was in his room, making a vase on his pottery wheel while listening to some music; when he heard a knock on his door.
Come in,
he said. He turned off his pottery wheel and his music.
Hey, son.
It was his dad. He came in and sat down on the bed, and that made Lake want to sit down in his chair.
What’s up, Dad?
Lake asked.
Nothing much. I see you’re still make pottery, I just came in to say are you ready to be the alpha wolf in your own pack just like your old man?
That sounds like something to me.
Lake said surprisingly. I don’t think I’m ready to take on such a big responsibility like that. I’m only eighteen years old.
Lake added.
Nonsense, when I was your age I had my own pack with my friends, siblings, and I even met your mom in it.
I know. You already told me this story,
Lake said jokingly. Maybe I should think about it. Do you mind if I go in the woods and think about it?
Sure. See you before dinner.
I was thinking about catching an animal for a snack.
Well, okay, try to catch something big but not too big. Your mom’s making dinner and, make sure it’s not someone we know in this village.
I will.
Lake said as he ran out the door and into the woods transforming into a brown and silver wolf. He thought it would be cool to have his own pack, with his friends and siblings, Willow and Max, but then again it still was a big responsibility for an eighteen-year-old like him. He would have to train everyone who’s a wolf to be calm and collected, so that way humans didn’t notice him and his friends turning into animals and back into people.
