The sun vies for attention, shining in my eyes

Yet I see through its ruse of blinding distraction

In its attempt to prevent your irresistible kiss

To replace it with its warm sunny day sensation

But pressed lips are where passion's pageantry persists

When we decide to dance, as melded butterflies

Your loving arms enfold me like gossamer wings

I'm bespelled by a farfalle's flit and flutter

No chagrin when your kiss imprints on my skin

I respond, lost in your soft, sensual utter

The jealous sunshine glares down, trying to cut in

Making a scene in attempt to come in between

But the delicate clouds in our love's chemistry

Swirl us together despite the sun's brightest show

As it's casting love's shadow, made of you and me

Gray billowy skies turn breathtaking blue

The calm after the storm sails through your smile

The halo of your spirit soothes and beguiles

Oh, companion of my soul, hold my hand

Your kiss consumes my mind's temple of thought

Lay me down upon altar of desires, besought

Play with me, naked, in sheets of temptation's best

Next to your warm skin, I feel adequately dressed

I wear crimson and reds, melting into you

The flush of our flesh reflects perfect imbue

Joy to the language of love! Our bodies make vows

When I think of you, such exultations arouse!

There's a desperate message in the air tonight

Flowing freely between us upon love's impulse

With begging gestures through nurturing eyes

I feel alive from instinctual passionate drives

Of our faithful pheromones at play

An undeniable connection without confusion

There's no second-guessing or coy confessing

The truth is tasted on the tip of our tongues

When our lips commence in irresistible kisses

Familiar is his touch that lingers and stays

Expected with such great anticipation

Though it feels new and exciting each time

As if his fingers fall along my curves by design

Every star blankets our moment in sparkling delight

When we dance wrapped in night's sensual ambience

I revel in every single throbbing heartbeat we share

Where the inevitable soft brushing of our skin

Ignites the unrestrained emotions within

And I cherish these memories in the making

Through the power of moonlight's magical mood

In midnight's unmistakable awakening

(Sigh…) I shall never sleep again

Love traveled as a wayfarer, to elude me

I saw it wave, elusively, across the sea

On its many voyages, it sailed in full sight

Stoic as a soldier, protective of its plight

I wanted its adventure and promises true

It held back the best perspective of finding you

I walked lonely shores, pacing along unknown land

Seeking recognition, some comfort from your hand

Half a lifetime searching, season after season

The wayfarer's delay must have had its reason

Because now you are here, familiar as the sun

Wrapped in wonder's warmth, shining proof—You are the one!

With firmly planted feet, love stays, feeling clever

It laughs as we kiss, jests—Better late than never!

I may ponder the reticence of time's relay

But you are mine despite a wayfarer's delay

I accept life's inevitable tears mixed with smiles

For this flippant, unpredictable world

Never proctored for protection from pain

With the saddest yearning comes wondrous beauty

Inside, our idyllic spirits comprehend much more

Than what the flesh's weak frequency understands

Yet I see clearly, through the window of my soul,

Destiny's dear, precise binding of your life to mine

When I die, I will clothe myself in our love's immortality

Reminiscing how your skin salved as my precious raiment

Remembrance of your caring, customized touch

Will surround me with warm truth of what love's worth

Past pursuits will deem moot compared to your embrace

When all things I have ever known pass away,

Your quintessence will remain and burn inside my spirit

Revealing my purpose, in truest essence on exhibit
