About this ebook
Anna Chandler, born Anna Louise Higginbotham, is a native Marylander and mother of six, including a set of triplet boys. She lived, worked, and raised her family before opening a family day care in 1985, which began her journey in education. Anna moved to Oregon in 1997, and even though her children are now grown with their own families, she continues in the education field as an administrative assistant in a public school system, but Anna's true love and hobby is singing.
In 1991, Anna began journaling what she could remember of her childhood in foster care. She wrote and continued to write everything she could remember for years. One day, Anna awakened to a voice telling her to complete the manuscript, and she knew that it was the voice of the Holy Spirit. In her heart, she knew that it was time to share her story and that if God brought her to it, he would bring her through it.
Anna searched the web and found Christian Faith Publishing and decided to contact them to see if her book would be good enough to make the mark. To her surprise, the manuscript was approved for publishing, and the rest is history. The work itself has taken Anna to another level in God, and she knows that this is just the beginning.
From Foster Care to Faith will be a spiritually encouraging addition to your home library, and I hope you enjoy it.
All glory to God!

Dear children,
Sixty years have gone by incredibly fast, and I often think of things I would do differently if I have a chance to relive them. I would live it just as I did the first time because this is the road God chose for me.
The chapters of this book are short and to the point, but I think you will enjoy every minute of it. Even if you never get a chance to read this book, you will know that my love for you all was unconditional no matter what happened.

Preface
Have you ever felt something so strongly that you live it over and over in your mind and dreams? Well, that is how I came to write this book; and if I wrote about everything that has happened to me in the last sixty-two years, this would be the first of a series.
In 1991, I began writing down all I could remember of my childhood in foster homes, even though none of it made any sense at the time. I could remember all the bad things vividly but very little of the good parts.
As time has gone by, I have come to remember more and more everay, and it makes so much sense to write it for the world to know that I was able to make lemonade with the lemons life gave me. I was able to become a volunteer instead of a victim.
To be honest, I have learned to press on in any situation and be content with any and all things that come my way. God has reminded me that Philippians 1:6 says, He that hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Before I knew God, he already knew me and was already taking care of my every need even when I refused to acknowledge it.
To the readers of this book, it is very real, painful, vivid, and blunt, but it is also true. For the rest of the world, I pray that when you read this book, you know that it was an inspiration of God that compelled me to share the good, the not so good, the bad, the ugly, and the divine with you all.
Thank you for taking the time to read From Foster Care to Faith!
Chapter 1
Get in Place for Your Miracle
Everyone has a story, but if you are like me, you may wait too late to tell it. If I could have written this book earlier in life, it may not pack quite the punch I wanted to give. On the other hand, having lived what I am writing was well worth the time it took to complete. It’s like a good wine; it tastes better with age. Now to try and put this all together so it makes sense to the reader as it made sense to me.
To begin, there was this woman who, all her adult life, chased the wrong things, especially men; and every one of those things, including the men, let her down—whether it was for finances, broken promises, mental abuse, or any other things not mentioned. One day, she finally came to her senses and made a pact with God and herself that she was going to be still and wait for God to bring her the right one, and that she would not move ahead of him anymore for lust’s sake. She joined a local church and on a steady basis became involved in that church, eventually becoming the church van driver.
A few months later, while preparing for Wednesday night prayer, a girlfriend of hers stopped by. She was not alone but had a male friend that she wanted her to meet. Since she had only a little time to chat (as time was pressing) and had to pick up the Wednesday prayer group in the van, she and the gentleman exchanged numbers and went on their way.
