Book of Physics Anagrams, Crossword puzzles, Word-searches and Mind-maps – Book 2
Introduction
In book 1 I introduced learners to one tried and tested technique to entrench in their minds concepts and principles in certain topics in Physics. Each chapter began with an anagram followed by a word-search, which was a lighter way to ease them into the vocabulary. The learner then built on this with the crossword puzzle, as they connected the words with the meaning, and perhaps the scientific relationship. Finally, they were able to use these words to build a mind-map of the sub-topic. At the end of each topic, the learners were able to then develop a big(ger) picture connecting all the sub-topics, and a bridge to interrelated concepts.
Even better still, in this follow-up book I have included a new feature ; Calc-Squares, which provides an opportunity for learners to practice mathematical skills while completing a three-by-three grid with only the value in the central square filled out. This new feature would also be included in an oncoming edition of the Book1.
As I mentioned in the first book, the strategy employed is rooted in research and supported by my own classroom experience. I have added another piece with the Calc-Squares, which is to complement the leaners’ experience with important mathematical skills to help with this important aspect of the models in science.
As learners work through the various aspects of each
