My past was dominated by rural pursuits. Contracting and then farming which included dairy, sheep and beef, and finally deer. Looking for a change, I moved to the city and dabbled in several business ventures. Writing novels was never considered in the early years, although from an early age, I enjoyed reading which led to writing short stories. But only for my own amusement. With more time on my hands, I started reading more. Perhaps I suffered a mid-life crisis, I thought I could write a novel. And I did. Seven times. There is a saying practice makes perfect, that's what I'm striving for. In the meantime, while working towards this goal I am deriving bucket-loads of pleasure from concocting my suspense novels. I try to write something unpredictable, something which leaves the reader thinking I never saw that coming.

This book is dedicated to Sue, my wife, whose dedication and support for me shines like two sun's in the sky and never wavers.
Preface
My Name is Ian Welch and I have been a Shiatsu practitioner healer for 42 years. I would like to share a little background with you about the book you are about to read and how it came to be.
I had a thriving healing centre in Tring, Hertfordshire, with over thirty people a week coming to see me for healing, as well as teaching around the world. One family in particular came to see me on a regular basis - a mum, dad, grandparents and children, who all had Shiatsu with me.
One day I had a call from the Mum: Hi Ian I need your help.
She asked me if I could come over to her house and give healing to her cat. I never turn anyone away and especially animals. I arrived at their house and was greeted by the whole family. Caroline, the Mum asked me to follow her into a quiet room away from the busy household. She then brought in Ellie the cat on a cushion.
I looked at the cat and it was just lying there as if it were dead. Caroline gently placed the cushion on the floor. I sat opposite Caroline with Ellie between us. I asked Caroline what is wrong with Ellie and she told me that Ellie had been diagnosed with a cancerous growth between her legs the size of a small orange. The vets had given her Chemo and Radio therapy without success.
They had said that Ellie would not last much longer and had given her just three days to live. Caroline asked me if I thought I could cure Ellie (not much pressure then!). I told her I would do my best. Ellie was barely breathing and her life force was almost gone. I tuned into Ellie with all my love and placed my left hand over her body.
The pain that came into my hand was almost unbearable as the cancer was being dissolved.
After twenty minutes the pain in my had subsided and I felt that was all I could do for now. Caroline asked me if I thought that Ellie would survive. I said if she is still alive after three days there is a good chance. As we spoke Ellie began to stir. We stopped and watched her as she tried to get up on very shaky legs. I placed my hand over her again to give her some more healing. Then Ellie did something very strange, she rubbed her head into my hand and began to purr. Caroline burst into tears. I looked at Caroline and asked her if she all right.
Ellie never does that to anyone other than me.
she replied.
Caroline was visibly shocked by Ellie’s actions. Ellie lay back down and fell into a deep sleep. I asked Caroline to keep me informed of Ellie’s condition. She gave me a huge hug and thanked me for my help. As I drove home I was not very hopeful of Ellie’s survival, she was thirteen years old and seriously sick.
Three days had passed and without any call from Caroline. My heart felt sad for her and that family. A week went by without contact. I thought that Caroline was too traumatized to call me.
Then the phone rang, and I was surprised to hear Caroline’s voice.
I have a request please Ian.
Of course what is it?
Can I bring Ellie to come and see you?
I couldn’t help it. I burst into tears. Ellie was still alive! Two days later Caroline arrived carrying a cat basket. They came into my healing room and Caroline placed the basket on the floor and opened the basket. A very shaky Ellie came out of the basket and straight into my lap. She was still very weak but a huge improvement in her life force. Caroline was very apologetic that she did not call me. She said that she spent most of the time caring for Ellie with hand feeding and cleaning her. She had taken Ellie to the vets for a scan to see what was going on. What Caroline said next blew me away.
The vets said that the cancer had vanished! Wow.
Ellie came to see me three more times and each time she was stronger than before until she became fully recovered.
A week later I was sitting quietly meditating when a human form cat appeared in front of me. I could tell it was a female and she was stunning. She said that she was a Paschat and her name was Zarena.
She asked me if I would like to know more about the planet she comes from called Trayor. Of course I said yes!
Then the story of Zarena was born. Being very dyslexic I was very concerned about how I was going to write such a story. The answer was simple; Zarena said that she would write it through me. So I sat down in front of a computer and waited for inspiration. The next thing I saw was Zarena’s home world and the story began to unfold in front of my eyes, literally. I couldn’t wait until I sat again and began to receive these amazing images.
What lays ahead of you in this book is what emerged from Zarena, through me - a story based on a real character from a real planet called Trayor.
Enjoy.

Chapter 1
INTO THE DARKNESS
Lights of many colours rushed past my eyes. I was flying through a tunnel of ever changing bright lights that dazzled the senses. The speed at which I was now travelling was making me feel giddy. I reached out and touched the sides of the tunnel. It was as if I had touched fast flowing liquid that swirled around my hands, leaving a wake behind me. A feeling of nausea was rising in my throat. Then I heard my father’s voice in my head saying, Relax Zarena, just go with the flow and everything will be OK.
I took what felt like a deep breath and set my mind to relax. This worked for a short while, but then the lights that were rushing past me began to speed up. It was starting to hurt my eyes – I had to close them – and the fur on my body began to stand on end.
With a sudden rush of what felt like freezing cold air upon my skin, I was thrown into complete darkness. I could feel my heart racing as if it was about to leap out of my chest – it was coming up to my throat – and I thought that I was going to be sick. I became aware that there were strange warm creatures moving around my body. I tried to open my eyes but they seemed to be sown up tight. By this time I was really panicking. I tried to push these creatures away with my hands. What has happened to my hands? These do not belong to me. I tried screaming out for help, Mum, Mum, help me!
Maybe I was having a nightmare?
My mouth would not open – it too was closed up. I was about to have a complete meltdown when the most serene voice came into my head, Be still little one, you are in my womb with your brothers and sisters. You are quite safe.
This froze me in my tracks. I could feel my heart slowing down and I stopped trying to push with my arms and legs. After what felt like a long time I was able to calm myself enough to listen to this strange yet divine voice in my head.
I had to ask, Where am I? Who are you? And why can’t I see?
You are in my body, inside my womb. You will be born soon. I am your new mother while you are here on our planet. The reason you cannot see or use your mouth is that they are not formed yet. You still have some more growing to do.
Whilst listening to this beautiful voice in my head, making me feel calm, I became aware of other bodies floating next to me. We were all in some kind of warm liquid. As I tuned into where I was, it felt very safe. As I let myself relax, I could feel that I was drifting off to sleep, the voice in my head saying that she would see me soon, and that she was honoured to be my Mum. These last words were fading into a strange, incandescent, multicoloured light.
How beautiful,
I thought. Then, without any warning, this light shot forwards at the speed of light, and I was flying through what seemed like a tunnel; a tunnel with a purpose, an urgent purpose. What now?
And my heart began to race once more, this time with even more fear attached. It has to be a nightmare,
I thought.
I started to call out to anyone who would listen, I must wake up. Zarena, Zarena, Zarena.
My eyes flew open and I took what seemed to be my very first breath of air. I gulped down lungfuls. I looked around, and saw my family and doctors standing around me with looks of concern on their faces. I sat up with my hands upon my chest trying to calm my heart. I heard my father saying, Breathe slowly and deeply, try to focus on where you are.
I took several deep breaths and calmed my mind. This worked well and soon I was able to focus on where I was. I was lying in a room with walls made of a special crystal that shimmered with a life force all of its own. As I looked at the walls around me, they were moving in and out of focus, as if trying to make contact with something, like they were tuning into vision or place or planet.
I looked at my father and he could see that I was nearly back in my true body. I must admit I was feeling very strange indeed. I felt like I was in two worlds at once – not really here, not really there.
What’s happening, Father?
Don't you remember?
I lay my head back down on the couch and stared up at the ceiling, trying to make sense of what had just happened. As I focused on the shapes swirling above my head, I could see a planet coming in and out of focus. It was a blue planet; it felt strangely familiar, like I had been there before.
Father, I just feel completely out of my body and I am struggling to make sense of it all.
It will become clear very soon. Do not concern yourself.
As I watched, my father's hands moved over the instrument panel with tremendous ease, the whole room becoming soft and tranquil, and the walls of crystals settled down into a very clear image of the blue planet I had just seen. My father began to speak, Zarena, do you remember where you have been?
I think so. I am not really here yet.
OK, I'll try to jog your memory. We are in the transportation room at the space research facility on your home world called Trayor. You have agreed to travel to a planet that the inhabitants call Earth, and to be born into a lower evolved species the humans call a cat. Do you remember now?
As I lay there feeling my body come back to life and my heart had slowed to its normal rate, it was all becoming clear. I had agreed to go to this planet called Earth and to experience a life inside a creature called ‘cat.’ A vision then came clearly to me of what this creature looked like. It was on all fours covered with fur; it had two eyes a mouth, nose, body, a tail, and soft feet. It occurred to me that this creature looked like me, yet it was so small and on all fours. My head started to spin again and I lay back down.
Yes, that is correct Zarena. This planet called Earth is many thousands of years behind us in the evolution of its species and you have chosen to go on a mission of gathering information for the Universal Masters, to see if we can assist in their growth in any way.
It all came flooding back to me in bright memories that shone behind my eyes. What has happened, Father? Has there been a problem? Why am I still here?
Your transition was hampered by your fear when you arrived on Planet Earth. We had to bring you back to make sure that you were OK. Now that you seem to be alright, we will have to send you back to complete the transition process. Do you still want to go?
I sat for a few moments gathering my thoughts and it was clear to me that I had to finish what I had agreed. My spirit form would leave my body and be transposed into a creature on a planet called Earth. My physical form here would be held in a state of harmony and cared for by my father and those skilled in the art of transpositions.
How long will I be gone for?
I asked.
In Earth years, fourteen. In our time here, you will be gone for one month. You may feel a strong connection to here, when you sleep in your other body.
It is time,
my father said. Lie back and close your eyes, and most of all just relax.
I followed my father’s advice and lay back, staring up at the crystal ceiling. It began to oscillate and move around like a liquid, changing its colour and depth. I could see a tunnel forming and a feeling of being pulled from my chest. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and exhaled, then I felt a rush of energy like falling from the skies and I was gone.
Chapter 2
EYES WIDE OPEN
I awoke once again inside the womb of the mother cat in which I had chosen to be born. Only this time, I was much more aware of where I was. Immediately a voice came into my mind. It was the same voice as the last time I was here.
Hello Zarena and welcome to Mother Earth.
I had a
