    Preface

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah , and may His peace and blessings be upon the final Messenger Muhammad , and all those who follow his way with righteousness until the end of time. Dhul Hijjah is one of the four Holy Months; it is a time of worship, sacrifice, and reflection. In this sacred month are the ten most blessed days of the year, and one of the two Eids.

Every year, millions of pilgrims gather to worship Allah in Mecca during these blessed days. They travel from every corner of the world, responding to the call of Prophet Ibrāhīm in order to worship Allah through the rites of Hajj. In this book, we will explore some of the profound virtues of Dhul Hijjah and the blessings associated with it. Together, we hope to revive the tradition of dedicating these beautiful days to worshipping Allah and gaining His Favour.

Just as every accepted Hajj leads to the pilgrim returning home as sinless as a newborn baby, likewise, the new year is a sign of new beginnings and a renewed hope for every believer.

Ibn ʿAbbās reported that the Prophet said: ‘No good deeds are better than what is done in these first ten days of Dhul Hijjah.’ (Bukhārī)
