One day, everything about life, love and God will make sense to you.
People say the truth sets you free . . .
. . . well let me tell my truth and see
Part 1:
This Thing Called Life
This Thing Called Life
The thing about life
is that it’s happening to all of us
at the same damn time
Health issues
Relationship issues
Work issues
Family issues
Death
Pain
Heartbreak
Lost
Weddings
Engagements
Proposals
New beginnings
New house
New car
New job
Job lost
Repossessed car
Evictions and foreclosures
Devastating endings
Breakups
Suicidal thoughts
Depression
Isolation
Troubled kids
All of that represents
what this thing called life is
You can’t carry my cross
And I can’t carry yours
So, who’s to say how heavy one person’s burden is over someone else
See the thing about life is
Life is happening to all of us
Don’t expect something from someone you ain’t giving yourself
just because life is happening to you
Your burdens ain’t heavier than mine
My problems not bigger than yours
It’s the way that we respond and treat others when life is happening to us
That reveals our true strength
So we’re either going to persevere, and pray our way through
Or let this thing called life take the best parts of you
Distance
A decade later and, I’m still finding my way to me
