Nice hotel, lobby and surroundings is nicer than the room, anyway, room is big too. Like the playground, fireplace, buffet, and the view of the buffet restaurant. Anyway, bad attitude of a man in the restaurant as we went to the wrong restaurant in the hotel when we searching for buffet restaurant in the morning

Exceptional Property, very helpful staff, Mario at the desk was particularly efficient and co-operative. The lobby area is buzzing with activity, has an open Bar, with super comfortable chairs to sit in, around a fireplace. Our room was large and comfortable with a frontal view of the Eiger, spectacular mornings. The breakfast is an expansive Spread, and the staff is always at hand to ensure that it’s a brilliant start to the day. I’d like to come back here again, for sure.

Basically a nice ski lodge, for both good and bad. Lobby and fireplace are great to hang out in, and views are as spectacular as expected. Rooms are spartan, but that’s both Swiss and ski lodge. Perfectly clean and functional, but underwhelming on first entry. Location is awesomely central. Easy walks to some things. Blood pumpers to some key attractions outside town center. If you accept the mindset that hanging out in your room is not what you come to Grindelwald for, this place is a solid choice.

A bit of a walk, but it is a very nice walk and the views are spectacular. Breakfast was also a must. Very well done hotel and cosy reception. Lounge area is also very relaxing. I had an issue with a bathroom leak in the shower but it probably not common, I let the staff know.

Fantastic staff, very helpful. The front desk agent who checked me in was very informative and welcoming. After I checked out, they also helped me find an outdoor activity. I forgot the two guys who were very helpful as well.

This is a four star property and is a very large hotel with restaurants in the hotel and right outside the door. Beautiful fireplace lobby and bar area as well as a patio outside with fire pit and view of the mountains.

Positives: The view of Eiger mountain from this hotel is outstanding. I had a balcony room overlooking this incredible view and also spent some time outside on the hotel terrace with the same view. A cozy fireplace in the lobby and some amazing cheese fondue in the restaurant rounded out my stay. Free city bus passes and a hotel shuttle from/to the train station makes it easy to get around. Bathroom was clean and modern with a deep tub/shower and great water pressure. The staff was great and did whatever they could to make my stay better. Location was also great if you want to go up Grindelwald First! The hotel is right across the street from where you catch the gondola. Negatives: Rooms are rustic and have NO A/C! Somehow I missed that in all the reviews I read before booking. If it’s a sunny day, that room heats up. They provide a fan, which helped, but the only cover on the beds are these thick, very hot duvets. Also be aware that this hotel is tour bus central with big tour buses pulling up every day and out every morning. Of course, Grindelwald in general felt like tour bus central and was very crowded on the streets even in late October! It’s a very touristy place with lots of souvenir type businesses.
