It is a real gem, very typical and well kept. The staff is incredibly caring and kind. The food is very good and the onsen very nice. Definitely recommended
The staff in this ryokan is very helpful and friendly. The location is ideal for visiting Gion. The property is clean, and the staff can communicate well in English, I highly recommend this place for international travelers.
The staff here is extremely friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like royalty. I wish I stayed longer. Such a unique experience, I highly recommend it. The place is very unique as well and gives you an old Japan vibe. If I’m ever back in Kyoto, I’d stay here in a heartbeat! Thank you Seikoro!
This was definitely an unique cultural experience. I highly recommend it. We were immediately greeted by the nicest and most considerate staff. Our room was spacious and the private bath suite was key. We also had the Japanese set breakfast meticulously served in our room. Overall an excellent stay.
The service at Seikoro Ryokan was outstanding and I couldn’t be more pleased with their hospitality. They were so welcoming and offered local recommendations for us to explore. They even assisted with making a local dinner reservation. The included breakfast was amazing and everyone was so friendly. I’m so glad I chose for our family of 4 to stay at Seikoro instead of a hotel in Kyoto.
All of the Seikoro staff, especially our room attendant, made us feel so welcome. The room design, the sleeping arrangements, the garden view, and the food was excellent. Thank you so much!
Everything and everyone was absolutely awesome. Highly recommend that everyone spend a night at the Ryokan for a special experience of traditional Japanese hospitality and traditions.
We stayed here for 5 days. The staff were amazing and so friendly. We enjoyed the breakfasts each morning. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable. The public bath was clean and was not busy during our stay.
The area was close to a train station which was helpful in getting around Kyoto. The real highlight was how attentive the staff were to our needs and how kind they all were. We loved the uniqueness of the property and were very glad we stayed.
We wanted an original ryokan experience and we got exactly that. Staff were really lovely. If I did it again as a senior I would request a room with western beds. The tatami mat beds were very comfortable but in a few years I do not think I could get up and down easily. The room did have four chairs but there were five of us. I enjoyed the Onsen bath experience and the Japanese breakfast. Great location, close to a few local restaurants and family mart. Walkable to Ginza District.
I don't know where to begin to describe how amazing this ryokan experience was. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so incredibly welcoming and took such great care of us. The room was so beautiful and comfortable, and our view of the garden was just stunning. We couldn't get over it. The onsen was great, and it ended up being empty so it was nice to enjoy it privately. The kaiseki dinner was absolutely fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. We opted to get a couples massage, which was a really great price and extremely relaxing. The futon beds were so dreamy and cozy. The Japanese style breakfast was so delicious. We've never experienced such amazing hospitality before and we were so sad to leave. It really felt like home here. We really hope to come here again one day!
Staying at a Ryokan is one of the top experiences when visiting Japan. Seikoro Ryokan makes this experience unique and memorable. The staff provides a very personal service with great attention to detail, they anticipated all our needs without being intrusive. Both the Western and Japanese breakfast were plentiful and delicious, and we enjoyed the onsite onsen. They detailed clean the place all day long, and the property, room and gardens are beautiful, spacious, comfortable and very well maintained.
Everything about our stay was perfect. We had such a fun and relaxing time in the onsen and with our in-room dinner and breakfast. We would love to come back again!
