"We did not visit as tourists, nor did we have the budget for this, but we deeply enjoyed the relatively affordable stay that allowed us to explore the Arctic! Special thanks go out to the wonderful staff who ensured that we had great food, amazing breakfasts, and some wonderful conversations!"

A quirky little town best known for being the most northern town in the world, a gateway for many Arctic expeditions (hiking, cruising, wildlife). You can't go beyond the immediate town environs without an armed guard because of polar bears.

So many options on what to do and see; most tour operators will pick you up and drop off at hotel, making getting to any activities manageable despite any weather conditions. People are friendly and the geography is just breath-taking.
