Spent 3 days at a 5 star hotel on shirkumvit also and it was amazing but we both wished we spent our entire stay here. Only drawback was it’s not in the middle of all the activities but we preferred everything about this hotel. Even waiting a few minutes for the ferry was nice, calming experience.

The pool top and restaurant were excellent. Staff was great as well. The amenities in the Riverside mall were very useful as well. Only downside is the location, but that was manageable with the hotel shuttle and the water taxis. All in all we were quite happy. King size bed was huge! More closet space and clothes drawers would have been welcome.

In many ways this is just another high quality Bangkok hotel with a cool rooftop bar. But three things make it stand out in a crowded market. First, the stunning views over the Chao Praya river. Second, the enormous and super-comfy King-plus sized bed. And finally, the breakfast buffet, which is the best I’ve ever experienced anywhere in the world. Overall I’d highly recommend this hotel for a couple’s visit to Bangkok.

This is a resort property where there are several dining options, bars, and a small (sad) shopping mall attached. The hotel was gorgeous with great views, comfortable accommodations and a good breakfast. The pool was nice but they didn’t really provide much service- having to walk to the bar to order drinks (staff was there but did not come over to take an order). The breakfast was great- only negative is they had a self service coffee station..just one, had to wait in line to get my own coffee. This is not a good location if you want to walk around off property as it seemed sort of depressed and not much to look at. You need to get a cab or take their ferry boat to get across the river for shopping, etc.

We love Avani Riverside, but this time our bed wasn’t comfortable and was too soft and saggy. We both thought maybe it needed to be replaced. But, the room was quiet and the view is just spectacular. Extras are expensive at Avani, but service is excellent and we will always stay here.
