We travelled all the way from Canada to watch the Euro Championship in Germany. Unfortunately, my family and I experienced a very unpleasant situation with one of the employee Saturday morning.
We arrived at breakfast service around 10am and we were quite surprised that none of the main dishes were available. While these things may happen, we were extremely disappointed with the service of the employee, Melanie. First, I tried asking her if there was going to be more main dishes coming out, but I was completely ignored. A few minutes later, my two sons also tried to ask her questions about the breakfast but they were very rudely spoken to. Throughout our breakfast, we noticed her behaviour to be very erratic. After this terrible experience I asked her for her name and I told her I was upset with her service. She replied that she is dealing with 100 people and did not apologize for her behaviour. Her service ruined my entire family’s breakfast experience and morning.
We were spending all of our time in Dortmund, but decided to stay at this hotel in Witten due to the great reviews about the breakfast service. In fact, we had a delightful breakfast the precious day.
The hotel was old but very well maintained. Cleaned, spacious and walking distance to the central train station. Very friendly and helpful stuff.
A bit on expensive side for the location but considering the event going on, UEFA championship it was a very good choice we made.
The area around was not the greatest one.
Nothing going on and not clean. Surprised with Germany, returning there after 30 years
Wonderful friendly people, good food in the restaurant, our room was lovely with lots of natural light and it also had a balcony. The breakfast was great. And all this came at a price that was very reasonable. If we get the chance to visit Witten again, this is definitely the hotel we would choose. The gentleman on reception, Holger, was very welcoming and made us feel at home.
The hotel is very nice and the people very friendly. Breakfast was delicious even though they don't have crunchy müesli. but other delicacies.
Unfortunately, the pool was closed due to Corona, however, the sauna was open.
Quiet town but perfect Hotel for a business trip. Rooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff in reception and upstairs bar area very pleasant. Wide choice for breakfast. I will be back.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
Nicely situated on the edge of town and the stadtpark.. Parking felt a bit exposed and the pool was not available.
Bedroom size was very good and the beds were very comfortable. Nice touch with the Haribo but having tea making facilities would have been better. The breakfast was a good mix of hot and cold items with varied drinks choices. Area not as good, but close to the station to get to Dortmund in 15 minutes. Would have liked the bar to have been open at 2pm for a drink, but not really an issue
More luxurious than I normally would choose but it was near the Saalbau theatre for a show. The room was quite large and comfortable. Food services for Breakfast, midday or dinner were wonderful.
The hotel is a little dated, but that gives it a certain charm - non-standard business hotel (Ibis, Holiday Inn, etc.) I booked late in the day and I think this led to the heating in the room not being switched on. The room was chilly (2 degrees outside) and only warmed up by the following morning, partially because it was fairly spacious. The restaurant \ bar were good and the food was excellent. Breakfast on the 9th floor looking out over the city is a great touch.
Seems to be the only four-star option in Witten, and it works okay. The rooms are dated and get stuffy on a hot summer day (no air conditioning). Bathrooms are Somewhat grimmy, due to age rather than daily upkeep. The best part of the stay was breakfast, which takes place in the 9th floor, where very friendly staff will help you to "real" eggs and other fresh product while you enjoy the view.
Booked for four days Room acceptable very clean Needs air con
We had dinner three evenings food was delicious As were breakfast
Signposting for hotel not clear we missed entrence a couple of times especially at night A shock to find nude bathers in swimming pool maybe this is what they do in Germany
