While this is in a great location and well priced it is very shabby and is in need of a desperate update and maintenance. Our bathroom was mouldy and poorly maintained. No face washers .. we had to ask for tea bags as only 1 in the caddy. We had no ironing board and a broken night light. Staff friendly enough. We booked through Expedia as advised by staff when we wanted to book with the hotel. We have stayed here many times over the past 15 years and it seems to get shabbier with each visit making it difficult to remain loyal to The View.

Stayed here for the Australian Open. Short tram ride (Commercial stop 25) or 50 minute walk to rod laver arena. It’s near Albert Park and seems more a quieter area vs downtown Melbourne. Hotel lobby and room 707 are slightly dated but was very clean and had everything I needed. Room has a great view of the city. Staff was super polite and check in was easy. The hotel bar was busy and a lot of fun. Restaurant selection within walking distance was relatively minimal but there is a 711 and IGA grocery store very close by. McDonald’s and subway are about 15 mins away.

The property isn't close to downtown, but is right next to a major tram line. The room was fine but not remarkable. Make sure you buy a myki card if you have an iphone. If you have a android phone download the app.

Nice and quiet in a walkable community. Lots of green space and there is a cricket field across the street that was viewable from our room. Enjoyed watching the team play and saw a new sport. 20-30 min walk to Chapel Street that has lots of eating options.

Nice views from a King city view room. Room was big and having a Nespresso machine makes a difference for us. Our room had reasonable sound deadening to noises outside of the building but no sound deadening via the main door to noises in the hallway or rooms across the hallway. Breakfast was adequate but the hot food wasn't very warm. We rated the hotel a 4 but we felt that with a little more effort with the food and completing sound deadening on the main room door, we would have rated the room a 5.
