"This is a delightful business hotel within easy walking distance of the JR station in Azumino, just a little ways up the track from the famous castle town of Matsumoto. The hotel is comfortable, convenient, and economical. The Route-Inn chain appears to have taken the business-hotel baton from the old Green Hotel chain--highly recommended."
"Very nice family-friendly hotel, room was very spacious (difficult to find in Japanese hotels!). The attention was great and the staff very attentive. I'd start here again "
"The staff at this property are unbelievable. They go out of their way for you. The hotel has pretty much ski in, with access to the chair lift right outside the front door. Dinner is amazing, breakfast is not as good, but has plenty on offer with fruits, hot and cold options.
The onsen downstairs was renovated whilst we were staying there and looks great, much more inviting.
Access to the Hakuba Valley Shuttle just up the road, walkable.
Although the idea of sleeping on a mattress on the...
"We went on a trip to see the snow for the first time
The chalet was very spacious and have plenty of room it can accommodate 6 or 8 people with ease
There was nothing around but the hotel car take us wherever we want
It is very intimate"
"We loved our stay at Pals Inn Raicho. So friendly, so helpful, the food was great, the onsen was healing.Take was so accommodating and helped us organize all of our logistics. We will definitely be back!"
"The hotel is a small hostel type located a bit far from the main road. The staff is friendly and nice. There are no personal cleaning amenites provided like toothbrush and towels though they can be easily bought from the supermarket nearby."
"We had a really relaxing stay here. For the price we paid, the food and service were exceptional. There were two private onsens that can be reserved, each with its own charm. Additionally, there is a bus stop right next to the ryokan, making this a convenient base for exploring the region. Would highly recommend it!"
"Worst hotel experience I’ve ever dealt with. Unable to get to the hotel because the only road to the hotel was closed. Hotel customer service was out-sourced and I had to talk to someone out of Japan that did not know anything about the hotel or roads in the area.
After about 2 hours of back-and-forth via emails, they finally provided a number to the actual hotel, but the language barrier was a challenge. They agreed to cancel the reservation and agreed to provide a full refund, however,...
"Its proximity to the ropeway was the biggest catch. They have a true onsen but sadly people are naked and don’t wear clothing and modesty is not followed . The staff are great and speak good English. The breakfast is generous but doesn’t quite fit the foreign pallet . Recommendation is that enjoy the delicious bakery items in the ropeway eateries ."
"Loved it. Great meals and onsen experience. Beautiful location and good amount of living space. We also enjoyed the local summer festival for two nights."
"Booked to stay here for an authentic Ryokan Onsen experience on our Japan holiday. This was our first time at both a ryokan and an Onsen so we don’t have an awful lot to compare it to on those aspects. However, the positives of the hotel were that the staff were very friendly and happy to help. They spoke a small amount of English and were happy to try to assist when needed. We were greeted in the car park on arrival and a member of staff helped carry our bags to the check in desk. All of the...
"We loved our stay at Ryokan Sansui. The view of the mountains around the hotel were amazing with tri-colored foliage.
The staff were also very lovely and kind. The food was also delicious and more than I had expected. Communication wasn't too easy, but the message would get across.
The best part was, of course, the onsen (hot spring) experience. They offer both public (gender-separated) hot springs and baths, as well as 4 private ones that don't need prior booking or extra fees.

"This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here. "

"We had an unique experience staying here. Shoes ares kept in lockers next to hotel entrance. We walked on the soft, comfortable tatami throughout the hotel common area.
The hotel provides mechanic car park - which is helpful, so we don't have to worry about our car being subject to snow or cold.
Highly recommend this hotel."
