Property is nice, but very dated - it seems there is a long storied history here, but it felt like nothing has been changed in decades. Room was ok, but was extremely hot - two small windows overlooking interior roof, so no breeze whatsoever. Room was also located close to the restaurant, as there was a strong fish smell the entire night that lingered into the morning.

Convenient Vintage Hotel Resort
Large, sprawling, quirky hotel. Lots of interesting old photos, decor items throughout the many common areas - fun to explore. Small but adequate room, comfortable beds, everything we needed. Quiet at this time of year, but still plenty of guests. Really enjoyed the stay.

Convenient location to Geilo station. The hotel would be great in the snow season. Unfortunately the bathrooms are starting to show their age. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is quite nice and has a lot of heritage. Comfortable stay.

Don’t recommend
Old and outworn, but has its charm. Very understaffed, probably one of the reasons customer service is so bad. Lots of drunk people everywhere during all times. Extremely noisy, and zero comfort at the room. Not very family friendly, except for the little playroom on 1st floor. We didn’t sleep much and ended up going home one day before. Very disappointed.

We really enjoyed staying at Dr Holms Hotel. It’s old, appears to have an original building and multiple additions, but the grand, rich character is still there. Breakfast was great- we just wish we had more time!
