Mustagh

Younghusband had made his name as an explorer of inner Asia when he trekked from China to India in 1887 by way of Kashgar and the difficult Mustagh pass through the Karakorum range.(8) His military career culminated in his leadership of the British column which invaded Tibet in 1904, reached Lhasa and forcefully negotiated a treaty that opened up Tibet to British trade and diplomacy.
