Once the maintenance phase is complete, all support equipment will be transported back to the ship in good-as-new condition, along with its maintenance crew, ready to execute any tasks demanded by
Nimitz on her next deployment.
Nimitz left for a regularly scheduled deployment, and NAVSUP FLC Puget Sound provided support during the weeks and months leading up to the ship's departure.

Nimitz and its escort ships during active flight operations, coming within 1,000 feet of US aircraft," he said.
Details of the operations were revealed to the GDN on board the USS
Nimitz, which joined Bahrain-based Fifth Fleet in July and is stationed in central Arabian Gulf, during an exclusive tour of the supercarrier.
