At the beginning of September the Allied infantry persisted in their push forward to a line east of Mancourt and Vraignes, west of Tertry and east of Monchy-Lagache.
March included a stay at Raincourt for training, another trench tour during which there were clear signs of an enemy retreat to the Hindenburg Line and a move via Vauvillers, Bersaucourt and Marchelpot, Flez and Druvieux to Tertry.
At Tertry on 1st April the battalion was unexpectedly asked to move up to the line at Soyecourt for operations on the following day.
