Adding to this point, were the
ammoniacal nitrogen (NH3-N) results as shown in Figure 5.
DM, VS, crude lipid, total
ammoniacal nitrogen (TAN = N[H.sub.3]+N[H.sub.4.sup.+]) and total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) were determined according to standard procedures (APHA, 2005).
The Principal Components Analysis (PCA) is illustrated with Figure 2 that includes the relation of the following aspects: water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, % of [O.sub.2] saturation, total phosphorus, orthophosphate, total nitrogen, total
ammoniacal nitrogen and chlorophyll a, with the samples space (Axis 1) and time (Axis 2) distribution.
The greater losses in those experiments may have been due to the higher rates of fertiliser application, which resulted in higher
ammoniacal N concentrations.
A session on technology developments included a paper from Henkel on the solvent extraction of nickel from
ammoniacal leach solutions and a joint paper by Impala Platinum and Bateman comparing the performance of mixer settlers and pulsed columns in the separation of cobalt from nickel using CYANEX 272 as the extractant.
The positive result of wheat dry matter yield with CS application, although its total N and
ammoniacal N contents are lower than those in the PS (Table 2), may occur because approximately 80% of CS is composed by amino acids that are easily mineralizable and undergo fast hydrolysis and ammonification, thus being more easily assimilated by plants (Zaman & Blennerhassett, 2010).
Upon the opening of the silos, the material was homogenized; 200 ml of juice was extracted from the silage with the aid of a hydraulic press for determination of pH values; 25 g of silage were extracted from the silo mass for
ammoniacal nitrogen, and 20 g for determination of water activity, and placed in plastic mini-trays.
Following laboratory investigations were included in the screening protocol - dicts test for reducing substances, Ferric chloride test for Phenylketonuria, Dintrophenylhydrazine test for alpha keto acids, Nitrosonaphthol test for tyrosine, Para nitroaniline test for methylmalonic aciduria, Cyanide nitroprusside test for cysteine and homocysyteine,
Ammoniacal silver nitrate test for homocysteine, Thin layer chromatography for amino acids.

A pink, red or violet colouration in the
ammoniacal phase indicated the presence of anthraquinone.
Removal of
ammoniacal nitrogen (N-NH3) from municipal solid waste leachate by using activated carbon and limestone.
Previous flexural tests of laminated beams treated with
ammoniacal copper zinc arsenate (ACZA) showed that treatment produced no significant negative effects on flexural properties or on glue-line shear strength, although the process was associated with some checking damage (Vaughn and Morrell 2012).
Group B of sampling stations characterized from b-mesosaprobic to Polisaprobic, based on the average values of phosphate (0.33 [+ or -] 0.24 mg.[L.sup.-1] [PO.sub.4]) and
ammoniacal nitrogen (1.26 [+ or -] 1.26 mg.[L.sup.-1] N), respectively.
In the argyrophillic reaction (Grimelius technique), the silver salts in
ammoniacal, aqueous or alcoholic solution bond to the cytoplasmic granules, being then reduced to silver metal by the exposure to an exogenous reducing substance.
The effect of
ammoniacal nitrogen on lettuce (Lactuca sativa) and radish (Raphanus sativus) plants.
