Evonik Industries has awarded WorleyParsons a contract for the detail engineering, procurement support and construction management on the building of world scale plants for the production of isophorone and isophorone
diamine. The plants will be located in Shanghai, China, with a total capacity of 50 kt./a.
It acts as an intermediate in manufacturing compounds such as isophorone
diamine and isophorone diisocyanate.
Scheduled for completi on in the first quarter of 2020, the project will double the capacity of these semi-crystalline nylons, produced with cycloaliphatic
diamine and 12-carbon acid monomers.
