Our aim is to describe two patients who developed periorbital eyelid
edema (see Figure 1) after initiating PAP therapy for sleep apnea via full face masks.
A head CT revealed new supratentorial bilateral vasogenic
edema with loss of all sulci and with poor differentiation of white and gray matter (Figure 1).
There is also a delayed onset form where pulmonary
edema takes 12 to 72 hours to appear after a CNS event [9].
However, few studies have investigated the efficacy of NPPV during pregnancy, and reports describing NPPV management for pulmonary
edema due to preeclampsia are scarce.
Histologic exam showed extensive
edema throughout the ovary.

The majority of these agents are found to be ineffective in reducing brain
edema, and their efficacy has not been proved by a randomized controlled trial.
Tracheostomy was completed seven days following onset of her angioedema given her persistent lingual
edema and the anticipated prolonged course of mechanical ventilation.
Nonpitting
edema of her hands and feet was also appreciated (Figure 1).
Furthermore, the patient had a positive bilateral Hoffmann's sign and a bilateral papillary
edema was found on fundoscopy.
Intravitreal bevacizumab caused substantial reduction in macular
edema and enhancement in visual acuity.
Neurogenic pulmonary
edema (NPE) is characterized by the development of acute pulmonary
edema shortly after a central nervous system (CNS) injury, including subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), intracranial hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, and spinal cord injury(1,2).

Peripheral
edema may occur as a consequence of medical conditions such as renal disease, congestive heart disease, hepatic cirrhosis, protein deficiency or as a drug adverse effect associated with nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, immunotherapy agents and antihypertensive medications.
