Gasman, the Judy & Howard Berkowitz Professor of Education and director of the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions at the University of Pennsylvania.

Concerned that ethnic minority students are not being adequately served by many colleges and universities across the country, professors Clifton Conrad and Marybeth
Gasman conducted a three-year national study of Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs).
"There was--for a while--a lot of talk about printed gold, but the high price of industrial gold prevented a lot of applications for taking off,"
