As seen from Table 6, antimicrobial activity was only displayed by the
hexane leaf extracts toward B.
The biosurfactant yield was compared in production medium and nutrient broth with and without
hexane. The yield was found to be higher in production medium with
hexane and nutrient broth without
hexane for most of the bacteria.
The mean larval survival time of the larvae fed with the
hexane extract of T.
The hydroalcoholic, ethyl acetate and
hexane extracts of B.
Table-2: Ultrasonic assisted lipid yields of
hexane extracted almond seed with two variables.
The fatty acid profile was evaluated for the different oil samples obtained in the present work by Soxhlet with
hexane or ethanol and ultrasound with
hexane or ethanol for 3 pecan nut varieties.
The powder was used to prepare the aqueous, hydroalcoholic and
hexane extracts at 10% (m/v), and phytochemical screening was performed.
Two milliliters of the aqueous,
hexane and ethyl acetate extracts were dissolved individually in 2M hydrochloric acid and filtered.
Hexane (ACS reagent [greater than or equal to] 98.5%, Sigma-Aldrich, USA) and methanol (ACS reagent [greater than or equal to] 99.8%, Sigma-Aldrich, USA) were used as solvents (700 mL, 6 hours) to obtain the extracts from 74.62 g of dried and powdered unripe fruit, using a Soxhlet extractor.
The n-
hexane soluble part was collected in another pear shaped flask and was evaporated to dryness by a rotavapour.
The fluororubber composition contains: a fluororubber (A); and carbon black (B), wherein when the aforementioned fluororubber composition is immersed for 160 hours in an extraction solvent of acetone and
hexane at an acetone:
hexane mass ratio of 42.29:57.71 at 40[degrees]C and an extraction residue that is not extracted and remains as a solid is separated from the aforementioned extraction solvent and dried and then the dry weight of the extraction residue is measured, the quantity of a solvent-insoluble polymer is not lower than 5%.
It was also found to work just as well as another well-known saw palmetto extract that is made with the harsh solvent
hexane. The study was published in Research and Reports in Urology.
Further, rapeseed is highly toxic; the oil is extracted with
hexane, and even if one finds an "organic" canola, it's still extracted from a highly poisonous plant.
