The stocks of SOC (Mg [ha.sup.-1]) per humus cover were calculated on the basis of humus cover thickness, SOC concentration (g [kg.sup.-1]) and soil bulk density.

Las irradiancias, los medios de cultivo y la interaccion de ambos influyeron significativamente (p<0.05) sobre el crecimiento de la diatomea, en los que se observo mayores densidades celulares (4.6 [+ o -] 0.37 x [10.sup.6] cel/mL) a 180 [micron]E/[m.sup.2] x s en Humus; sin embargo, en este mismo medio pero a irradiancias de 60 y 120[micron]E/[m.sup.2] x s, se registraron las menores densidades celulares, con valores de 1.9 [+ o -] 0.24 y 1.2 [+ o -] 0.16 x [10.sup.6] cel/ mL, respectivamente.

Os tratamentos resultaram da combinacao de tres fontes organicas (esterco bovino, esterco ovino e humus de minhoca) e quatro proporcoes dessas fontes (0;20; 40 e 60%, correspondendo a 0,00; 0,36; 0,72 e 1,08 L recipiente-1) em mistura ao solo e areia (3:1 v [v.sup.-1]).
