One of the issues with owning a wood stove is how to collect and store enough dry kindling for the heating season.

We will typically go through sections of the property to collect most of our kindling in the spring and fall when insects are dormant.

Cut or break the kindling to a length appropriate for your wood stove.

We store stacked kindling bundles in the barn loft to dry thoroughly.

If the kindling had a high moisture content when we bundled it, it may shrink and the bailing twine ties may loosen.
