In SA, since the prevalence of familial hypercholesterolaemia is as high as 1 in 100 in some communities, ideally everyone should undergo a full
lipogram, or at minimum TC/LDL-C measurement, at least once in young adulthood (from 20 years of age).
The
lipogram's rule and the distant view yield a sense of a person--abhor-rent and dejected--that no claim on his body or mind could have attained.
A
lipogram is a text that omits a particular letter of the alphabet.
(1.) This technique of selective omission, known as the
lipogram, has a well-attested history, and fascinated Perec and his colleagues of the OuLiPo, or Ouvroir de Literature Potentielle (Workshop for Potential Literature).
No association was found between HRQOL and other clinical parameters, namely number of insulin units used per day, exercise, BMI,
lipogram and the use of OHAs.
* This N question provoked the following
lipogram, proving that Mary's Lamb is a very nice, positive, almost N-less poem, suitable even for highly sheltered kids who aren't allowed to hear negative thoughts.
Clinically indicated baseline investigations prior to initiating antipsychotic treatment are directed by the clinical process and choice of initial drug therapy, and include body mass index (BMI) and waist:hip ratio (cardiovascular (CV) risk), fasting blood glucose and
lipogram (metabolic risk), and full blood count and liver function tests (depending on drug selection).
Evaluation should include standard history and examination, and blood pressure related to age, with recommended blood tests being glucose, total serum testosterone and
lipogram. Full blood count (FBC), prostatespecific antigen (PSA), liver function tests (LFTs), prolactin and luteinising hormone (LH) may also be assessed as indicated.
In this sense, the apostrophe can be linked to the Oulipo writers and to their favourite technique of creative omission, the
lipogram. Oulipian experimentation has, as many have noted, certain affinities with some of Coover's own formal games and procedures, and the most famous
lipogram of all, Georges Perec's La Disparition (1969), notoriously omits the letter e throughout.
In their meetings, he characteristically offered possibilities that the group might pursue together, such as his presentation of the
lipogram (B 156), a literary form which Georges Perec would ultimately exploit, with results nothing short of stunning, in the late sixties and early seventies.
Shields's elegantly witty, eleven-hundred-word story is about a woman trying to be creative on a keyboard on which one of the letters is broken "and, to make matters worse, a vowel, the very letter that attaches to the hungry self." The story is, of course a
lipogram. It unravels itself neatly and effortlessly without ever using the letter i.
If the total cholesterol is very high, it should always be followed up with a full
lipogram to detect the patients in whom the very high total cholesterol reflects an accumulation of TGRLs rather than LDL particles.
Samples should be assayed for the following biomarkers: fasting insulin, fasting blood glucose, highly sensitive C-reactive protein, and a
lipogram. If these pathways are identified, and it is assumed they indicate an individual on the pathway to the NCDs of interest, prevention and therapy can be addressed.
A more recent specimen can be found in the 6 August 2002 issue of The Village Voice; book review editor Ed Park kicks off his Gadsby retrospective with a very fluent-sounding
lipogram (but unfortunately drops the constraint after just one paragraph).
Evaluation should include standard history and examination, and blood pressure related to age, with recommended blood tests being glucose, total serum testosterone and
