Calculating the
SALP and SALP-D does not require sensor concentration information.
In PCa patients, osteoprotegerin showed weak correlations with
sALP, NTx, prostate-specific antigen, and tumor stage ([r.sub.s] = 0.372, 0.210, 0.237, and 0.222, respectively; P <0.05), but not with histologic grade of the tumor ([r.sub.s] = 0.051; P = 0.641), with alanine aminotransferase as liver marker ([r.sub.s] = -0.077; P = 0.461), or with serum creatinine as renal marker ([r.sub.s] = 0.076; P = 0.474).
It will also allow
SALP to enterA the Indian fast-growing gold and diamond jewellery market, the Italian partner said.
According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, the jellyfish-like animals are known as
salps and their main food is phytoplankton (marine algae), which absorbs the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in the top level of the ocean, which in turn comes from the atmosphere.
These animals include some radiolarmans and foraminifera, as well as medusae, siphonophores, ctenophores, chaetognaths, pteropods, heteropods, appendicularians,
salps, doliolids, and pyrosomes (e.g., Hamner et al., 1975).
In situ evidence and anecdotic information on the
salp outbreak formation
Using dye to observe
salp movements in their natural environment isn't completely new; my advisor, WHOI marine biologist Larry Madin, used the technique years ago.
Each
SALP is an 8-foot-long aluminum frame, fitted with white plastic "carousels"--float launchers full of holes so water can pass through to minimize drag.
Neuron size in the ascidian larva is thus quite small, similar to the sizes of motor neurons in, for example, the
salp ganglion [15] or the arthropod brain.
(pelagic
salp) Larvacea (pelagic tunicate) 0.13 12.5 Sebastes sp.
In addition,
salp blooms are unpredictable; their presence alone near the tubes does not guarantee they will bloom.
Current projects include dynamics of
salp blooms in the Atlantic and Antarctica; predation on larval fishes on Georges Bank; biogeography of plankton and fishes in the open ocean and deep sea; and developing new gizmos for sampling and exploration.
SIMPER analysis by season revealed a mean similarity contribution of 76.05 % to taxonomic composition of the transition1 season stations, characterized by high abundance of copepods and
salps. The taxonomic similarity to the transition 2 season was 64.72 %, and conversely to the transition 1season, the same groups were found as high contributors to dissimilarity between seasons.
"They breed in the tropics - Africa and central America/Caribbean - but they forage on jellyfish and
salps species, which means that they make major migrations, similar to whales and dolphins, to the boundary of polar regions where forage resources are extremely rich."
