The researchers found that per 1,000 births, the
stillbirth rates were 16.1 (95 percent confidence interval [CI], 12.4 to 20.8) and 22.9 (95 percent CI, 16.4 to 31.8) in women with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, respectively.
The authors discovered that urso did not have an impact on pregnancy outcomes including preterm birth, neonatal unit admission, and
stillbirth. They also got to know that it did not show any meaningful improvement in itch for most women, nor did it reduce the woman's bile acid levels.
The World Health Organisation defines
stillbirth as a foetal death after 28 weeks of pregnancy, or when a baby who has reached viable gestational age dies before birth.
From 40 to 41 weeks, there was a 64 per cent increase in the risk of
stillbirth, while neonatal mortality was significantly higher for babies born after the 41 week mark.
The highest risk of
stillbirth occurred when pregnancies went beyond 41 weeks -- then the odds rose by 87%, the British researchers said.
The ability of INTERGROWTH-21st to identify SGA in
stillbirth cases compared with local South African (SA) standards (Theron-Thompson growth charts) has not been assessed.

Some hospitals already offer smoking tests at 12 weeks, but all will now be ordered to do so at both 12 and 36 weeks.
The study from Aberdeen University, which is the first ever to look at inherited predisposition to
stillbirth between mothers and daughters, examined data from more than 26,000 pairs of relatives.
"To our knowledge, this is the first observational study to investigate
stillbirth risk transmitted from mother to daughter.

stillbirth - and found women who sleep on their backs ran a higher risk because the weight of the uterus can reduce blood flow to the baby.

stillbirth rate in sub-Saharan Africa is approximately 10 times that of developed countries.
